Questionable, & Doubtful

PostSat Jun 19, 2021 9:17 am

How quick do you need to rest these players. This is only my second team, and have several players Q & D for the next game. Should I just play them till they get hurt, or miss time, or rest them or some now?

Keep an eye on pass attempts for your QB, receptions for your receivers, and rushing attempts for your running backs. Basically (there is a lot of wiggle room for HAL to play with this) you will get use your player as long as he stays more or less on or under pace to hit his season average (the number of attempts listed as his season stats). If it says he carried 160 times, HAL will try to shut him down if goes above 10 by the end of the first game, 20 after the second, 30 after the third, etc.

You will see in-game injuries that pull a player to keep his numbers down. You also will see in-game injuries that happen at random, just because it's football, so there are two different games mechanisms that can lead to injuries. The Questionable and Doubtful notations are a warning to you. That player might get through the next game, or he might get injured along the way. If he gets injured, you also incur the risk that he might have to sit out an additional game or two.

That mechanism seems to be at least partially shut down for the last couple games of the season and the playoffs, but not entirely. You still run some risk.

Watch your teams and those of others in the league. It should start making sense after a couple leagues.
