They dont take the shortened season into account. You either make the 600 or 680 ABS + BBs needed or you don't. I like the Dewey card, but it will be a 15 Game Injury Risk.

Not exactly. SOM is wildly inconsistent in its injury ratings in the ATG game. 1873 Ross Barnes (340 AB + 20 BB = 360) and 1994 Frank Thomas (399 AB + 109 BB = 508) played in all their team's games in a short season and have no injury. There are probably other such players as well, but Barnes and Thomas are the ones who came immediately to mind.

However, Andy is correct in that if a player in a shortened season missed even one game, and failed to meet the 600 AB + BB threshold, then such players are a 15 game injury risk.

Moreover, since Andy uses SOMs highly overpriced card viewer, he's probably seen the 1981 Evans card from the strike shortened season, and if it hasn't been updated to be injury free because of Evans playing in every game, then yes, he'll be subject to a 15 game injury for failure to meet the 600 AB + BB threshold.

Due to SOM's inconsistency regarding injuries, many players have injuries on their cards, despite playing in all their teams games. For example, Dale Murphy played in all of the Braves' games from 1982 through 1985. He has ATG cards for the 1982, 1983 and 1984 seasons. Only the 1982 card is injury free. The 1983 card had 589 AB + 90 BB, for a total of 679, one short of the 680 threshold, so 1983 Murphy can get injured for 3 games at a time, despite playing in all 162 games. 1984 Murphy had 607 AB + 79 BB, above the 680 threshold, so the max injury is in game only, again despite playing in all 162 games.

There are other players who played in every game for their team who have injuries on their cards.

The weirdest example of SOMs injury inconsistency is NeL Tubby Scales, who with 498 AB and 77 BB can get injured for 15 games, but only has an injury on his card against LHPs! Yes, that's right, despite being a 15 game injury risk, there's no injury on Scales' card against RHPs!

Hopefully SOM will someday address these injury inconsistencies, but with few complaints, SOM likely has other priorities.
