1904 Rube Waddell. Current at 1905 which is his triple crown year however I believe, relative to the year and despite the numbers being similar, his 04 year had a much wider gap to the next pitcher with a 11.3 WAR. Not sure many players with WAR > 10 don't reside in current ATG9

thanks

1904 Rube Waddell PHA Throws-L BAL-E END-S8* ADDED TO SET
LH—2b-0.9 3b-0.5 HR-0.4 BB-6 .150/.197/.180 OPS-.378
RH—2b-0.9 3b-0.5 HR-0.4 BB-6 .148/.195/.178 OPS-.373
1905 Current Waddell, Rube PHA Throws-L BAL-E END-S9*/R5
LH—2b-0.3 3b-0.2 HR-0.5 BB-7 .105/.163/.125 OPS-.288
RH—2b-0.3 3b-0.2 HR-0.5 BB-7 .103/.161/.123 OPS-.284
The current 1905 card is better.

1914 Slim Sallee -- STL -- 2.10/1.148 ERA+ 133

2004 Jake Peavy -- SDP -- 2.27/1.196 ERA+ 171

1941 Al Benton -- DET -- 2.97/1.237 ERA+ 153

Andy, how would the 1943 Whit Wyatt be compared to the 1941? It would be a non*. 2.49/1.007 ERA+ 134

1898 Kid Nichols
Nichols best year. Probably best player in baseball for the 3rd straight year. Perhaps the most undervalued pitcher of all-time. Left the majors for 2 years before coming back to pitch for the lowly Cardinals (Current card). If he'd stuck around he surely would have won 400 lifetime. Needs a better card.

Bob Shawkey 1916 (even 1917 and 1919 look like improvements)

1990 David Wells, TOR, Throws-L, 5R BAL, END-S7/R3 (probably won't get the *)
LH--2b-16.7 3b-1 HR-2.1 BB-6 0 .231/.274/.475, OPS-.748
RH--2b-4.5 3b-1.6 HR-1.3 BB-0 0 .151/.151/.257, OPS-.408

1991 David Wells, TOR, Throws-L, 4L BAL, END-S7/R3 (probably won't get the *)
LH--2b-0.80 3b-1.20 HR-2.40 BB-1 .137/.145/.235, OPS-.380
RH--2b-6.40 3b-0.00 HR-3.70 BB-4 .219/.248/.387, OPS-.635

The 91 card might be interesting since Wells other cards are balance toward RH.
Regarding David Wells, Strat pretty much says he was an average pitcher who luckily was on a lot of good teams.

Current 1923 Bob Shawkey, NYY, Throws-R, E BAL, END-S8*

RH--2b-2.8 3b-0.8 HR-0.7 BB-8 .136/.200/.200. OPS-0.400

Deadball Yankees need as much help as they can get. 1916 is an improvement for Shawkey.

1914 Slim Sallee, STL, Throws-L, E BAL, END-S8*/R5
LH--2b-1.75 3b-0.60 HR-0.25 BB-4 .179/.209/.214, OPS-.424
RH--2b-1.75 3b-0.60 HR-0.30 BB-4 .176/.207/.213, OPS-.420

RH--2b-2.25 3b-1 HR-0.25 BB-3 .194/.217/.242, OPS-.459
A teeny bit better, not worth it.....

2004 Jake Peavy, SD, Throws-R, E BAL, END-S6
LH--2b-1.75 3b-1.25 HR-1.30 BB-8 .153/.216/.234, OPS-.450

LH--2b-0 3b-1 HR-0 BB-5 .056/.100/.076, OPS-.176
An ok card to add to the set of non*, not that great but ok

1941 Al Benton, DET, Throws-R, E BAL, END-S7/R4
LH--2b-0.2 3b-1.8 HR-1 BB-12 .104/.204/.174, OPS-.378
RH--2b-0.8 3b-0 HR-2.4 BB-10 .092/.176/.173, OPS-.350

RH--2b-4.4 3b-1 HR-1.9 BB-10 .194/.269/.318, OPS-.587
Quite an improvement on Benton, though without the *

1943 Whit Wyatt, BKN, Throws-R, 1R BAL, END-S7
LH--2b-2 3b-0.4 HR-0.8 BB-3 .162/.186/.210, OPS-.396
LH--2b-1.8 3b-0.4 HR-0.5 BB-3 .140/.164/.179, OPS-.343

Current 1940 Whit Wyatt, BKN, Throws-R, E BAL, END-S7*
LH--2b-3.4 3b-0.8 HR-3 BB-5 .203/.240/.339, OPS-.579
LH--2b-3.4 3b-0.8 HR-3 BB-5 .203/.240/.339, OPS-.579

A good improvement for Wyatt stats-wise

Is it possible to check Guy Hecker's 1884 year. My gut is telling me a bit better than Radbourn (fearing Clarkson) but this is his most notable year vs that 104 IP card. This would make him a 9* pitcher to slots into rotation easier.
