Do you think SOM will survive another 10-20 years? I wonder which would bring in more new (and younger) fans, cards from the 1800s-1950s. Or players from the last 50 years or so?

I would have thought the answer might even be both, but since we can only add a couple dozen cards, a couple of times a year, priorities have to be made.

We know what the current customer base prefers. The players from a bygone era in America, when mom still made apple pie, and certain folks weren't allowed on golf courses (or ball diamonds for that matter).

You definitely wouldn't want a really nice card from an average player, that nobody has heard of like, Terry Shumbert. Those roles are reserved for Hugh Duffy, Ross Barnes and all the "Whiteys" and "Rubes" you can find.

I have no problem with Shumpert. He meets the PA criteria for addition. If you want him in the set make the nomination.

Half the cards in the set are fluke unleashed cards.
