Hitter Card Ideas for 20.1 Nominations

PostSat Nov 23, 2019 5:51 pm

I've taken some time to put some stats together from some cards, using Diamond Dope and Veterans 1975 for the park, since it's kind of neutral (10,10,10,10).

1899 Fred Tenney, BSB, Bats-L, 1R Balance, 1b-1e30
LH--3.9 2b, 0.6 3b, 0.2 HR, 13 BB 373/455/432, .887 OPS
RH--1.3 2b, 4.3 3b, 0.2 HR, 12 BB 406/478/514, .991 OPS
It's a good card for a guy who played 1b for the db Braves for 15 seasons. Good add.

1911 Birdie Cree, NYY, Bats R, 3L Balance, LF-1(-2)e11, CF-2(-2)e11, RF-2(-2)e11, 2b-4e71, SS-4e88
LH--14.6 2b, 7.8 3b, 3 HR, 8 BB 489/531/833, 1.415 OPS
RH--5.4 2b, 6.5 3b, 0.6 HR, 12 BB 442/509/654, 1.163 OPS
Early Highlander favorite, Good combination of defense and hitting. Finished 6th in MVP vote.
db NYY need some help.

1912 Larry Gardner, BOS, Bats-L, E Balance, 3b-1e37, Steal: *4-6,12/-(18-13), 15 Game INJ Risk
LH--4.7 2b, 5 3b, 1.1 HR, 12 BB 386/460/575, 1.034 OPS
RH--4.7 2b, 5 3b, 1.1 HR, 12 BB 386/460/575, 1.034 OPS
14th in MVP Voting. Gardner was a mainstay in the infield for 3 World Champion Red Sox teams. Give him that 1912 card, where he helped lead the Red Sox to 105 wins. Nice improvement on a good player.

1912 Johnny Evers, CHC, Bats-L, E Balance, 2b-1e34, Steal: *4-6,12/-(18-13), 15 Game INJ Risk
LH--4.2 2b, 2.5 3b, 0 HR, 19 BB 435/540/540, 1.080 OPS
RH--4.3 2b, 2.7 3b, 0 HR, 19 BB 451/552/560, 1.113 OPS

1919 Bobby Veach, DET, Bats L, E Balance, LF-2(-3)e13
LH--11 2b, 4.8 3b, 0.5 HR, 3 BB 438/459/651, 1.110 OPS
RH--14.5 2b, 4.8 3b, 0.5 HR, 3 BB 445/466/691, 1.157 OPS
Tigers LF for 11 years, Led League in Hits, Doubles, and Triples. Check out all those XBH
FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT with 2b numbers (AND BETTER)

1920 Joe Dugan, PHA, Bats-R, 2L Balance, 3b-2e28, SS-4e72, 2b-3e41
LH—14.8 2b, 0.2 3b, 2.8 HR, 0 BB 426/431/647, 1.078 OPS
RH—11.2 2b, 0.9 3b, 0 HR, 0 BB 379/384/500, .884 OPS

1922 Charlie Hollocher, CHC, Bats L, E Balance, SS-2e30
LH--7.3 2b, 1.2 3b, 0 HR, 10 BB 407/467/506, .973 OPS
RH--7.3 2b, 1.2 3b, 0 HR, 10 BB 407/467/506, .973 OPS
SS for the Cubs from 1918-1923, batted .340.
There is a lack of Left Handed SS in ATG.

1922 Bob O'Farrell, CHC, Bats-R, 1L Balance, C-2(+1)e8
LH--3.8 2b, 2.5 3b, 0.8 HR, 27 BB 413/565/553, 1.117 OPS
RH--3.2 2b, 2 3b, 0.6 HR, 27 BB 344/514/455, .969 OPS
That 1922 card might be a fun one in a small ball setting, with those singles and walks (he's SLOOOOOOOW though)

1923 Edd Roush, CIN, Bats-L, E Balance, CF/LF/RF-1(-2)e12, Steal: *4-6/- (17-12), 15 game INJ risk
LH--9.6 2b, 5.3 3b, 1 HR, 8 BB 400/450/634, 1.084 OPS
RH--10 2b, 5.6 3b, 1.3 HR, 8 BB 415/464/667, 1.131 OPS
Led League in Doubles

1926 Les Bell, STL, Bats R, E Balance, 3b-3e21
LH--5.6 2b, 3.4 3b, 5.2 HR, 9 BB 395/451/684, 1.185 OPS
RH--5.8 2b, 3.4 3b, 5.2 HR, 9 BB 389/446/677, 1.123 OPS
Finished 6th in MVP Voting for the World Series Champion Cardinals, a team that had Bottomley, Hornsby, Hafey, and Pete Alexander.

1931 Ben Chapman, NYY, Bats-R, E Balance, LF/CF/RF-3(0)e13, 2b-3e30, Steal: *3-6/-(19-15)
LH--3.4 2b, 2.4 3b, 4.5 HR, 14 BB 366/454/599, 1.054 OPS
RH--3.2 2b, 2.3 3b, 4.5 HR, 14 BB 357/446/585, 1.031 OPS
1938 Ben Chapman, BOS, Bats-R, 1R Balance, RF/LF/CF-3(-1)e13, 2b-3e30, Steal:*4,6/-(16-11)
LH--1.4 2b, 0 3b, 0 HR, 12 BB 448/510/463, .972 OPS
RH--12.1 2b, 2.6 3b, 0.6 HR, 14 BB 419/494/622, 1.116 OPS
Either card is good and an improvement. I liked the AVG & OBP of the 1938 Card, especially for a guy with speed who could be a leadoff guy. 1931 has more HR power, but not a ton.

1933 Wally Berger, BSB, Bats-R, E Balance, LF-3(-1)e10, RF/CF-4(-1)e10
LH--8.8 2b, 2 3b, 12 HR, 6 BB 374/414/856, 1.271 OPS
RH--8.5 2b, 2 3b, 11.8 HR, 8 BB 373/425/854, 1.280 OPS
Wow, this card has a LOT of HR power. Berger finished 3rd in MVP Voting, and this card would be his best by far.

1936 Jackie Hayes, CWS, Bats R, E Balance, 2b-2e25, SS-4e42, 3b-3e27
LH--9.9 2b, 0.2 3b, 0.8 HR, 5 BB 336/373/459, .832 OPS
RH--9.6 2b, 0.2 3b, 0.8 HR, 5 BB 328/366/448 .814 OPS
2b for the 1930s White Sox, nice Doubles from both sides, current card is a .53 scrub

1938 Buddy Myer, WAS, Bats L, 2R Balance, 2b-2e16, Stealing: *5,6/-(15-6)
LH--2.2 2b, 1.4 3b, 2.9 HR, 26 BB 345/503/510, 1.013 OPS
RH--4.3 2b, 2 3b, 0.5 HR, 0.5 HR, 27 BB 48/579/557, 1.136 OPS
Myer's 6.32m card is a fine offensive card, but that 3 at 2b can scare folks away.
This card has better defense and is close to the offensive producer that his 6.32m card is. Excellent OBP.
16 seasons with the Senators.....

1939 Buddy Lewis, WAS, Bats L, E Balance, 3b-4e36
LH--3.1 2b, 4.5 3b, 3.7 HR, 14 BB 397/481/644, 1.125 OPS
RH--2.9 2b, 4.6 3b, 3 HR, 14 BB 382/486/609, 1.077 OPS
Led the League in Triples this season, a good solid bat and for 10 seasons, despite losing 3 full seasons to WWII.
His current card is 1m

1942 Wally Judnich, SLB, Bats-L, 1R Balance, CF/LF/RF-2(-1)e4
LH--3.8 2b, 1.4 3b, 4.6 HR, 19 BB 332/456/563, 1.019 OPS
RH--4.3 2b, 1.5 3b, 5 HR, 19 BB 370/487/623, 1.110 OPS
After 3 seasons was on his way to a strong career, then lost 3 years to WWII and was never the same. Good combination of power and OBP, can play all 3 OF spots

1948 Johnny Lindell, NYY, Bats-R, 3L Balance, LF-2(+1)e2, RF-3(+1)e2
LH--9.9 2b, 0 3b, 8.2 HR, 20 BB 466/565/859, 1.424 OPS
RH--3 2b, 1.5 3b, 6.6 HR, 2 BB 351/363/595, .958 OPS
One of the reasons for Yankee dominance in late 40s and all through the 50s was great platoons. Lindell has a great card vs LHP, played in 3 World Series

1950 Dom DiMaggio, BOS, Bats-R, 2L Balance, CF-1(-3)e8
LH--7.7 2b, 1.6 3b, 1.8 HR, 12 BB 439/512/611, 1.123 OPS
RH--3.5 2b, 3 3b, 0.5 HR, 17 BB 351/465/475, .940 OPS
Led League in Runs and Triples, there is no adequate Boston CF in the Post-War Set

1951 Sam Jethroe, BSB, Bats-R, 1R Balance, RF/LF/CF-3(0)e13, Steal:*5,6/-(19-13)
LH--9.4 2b, 0.2 3b, 2.8 HR, 4 BB 290/342/470, .812 OPS
RH--2.5 2b, 3.3 3b, 5.3 HR, 12 BB 333/431/612, 1.033 OPS
"Jet" was a former Negro Leaguer who didn't get a chance to shine on the MLB level until he was 33 years old, Led the League Twice in Steals, Well-balanced and strong vs RHP, give this man a card

1954 Sandy Amoros, BKN, Bats-L, 4R Balance, LF/CF/RF-3(+1)e5
LH--6.4 2b, 0 3b, 0 HR, 0 BB, 49/256/308, .563 OPS
RH--8.5 2b, 3.6 3b, 4.8 HR, 10 BB 290/362/598, .960 OPS
Made one of the great catches in WS history in 1955 Game 7 (also homered in Game 5)in that Series),
This is a good platoon card vs RHP

1956 Bill Virdon, PIT, Bats-L, 3R Balance, CF-1(-2)e6
LH--2.4 2b, 0.5 3b, 2.2 HR, 1 BB 315/328/409, .737 OPS
RH--4.9 2b, 3.5 3b, 1.2 HR, 2 BB 421/437/569, 1.006 OPS
Pirates CFer for over a decade, he needs a usable card, strong vs RHP

1956 Jimmy Piersall, BOS, Bats-R, 3L Balance, CF-1(-1)e4
LH--16.2 2b, 1.6 3b, 3 HR, 14 BB 372/454/674, 1.128 OPS
RH--6.3 2b, 1 3b, 1.8 HR, 7 BB 329/372/462, .835 OPS
Not Bulletproof, but close. Led League in Doubles.

1956 Charlie Maxwell, DET, Bats-L, 2R Balance, LF-3(+1)e5, RF-4(+1)e5
LH--1 2b, 0 3b, 5.6 HR, 21 BB 376/503/583, 1.086 OPS
RH--1.5 2b, 0.6 3b, 9.5 HR, 16 BB 427/518/770, 1.288 OPS

1959 Frank Bolling, DET, Bats-R, 2R Balance, 2b-1e11
LH--3.2 2b, 0 3b, 1 HR, 20 BB 232/395/305, .700 OPS
RH--3.1 2b, 1.2 3b, 3.3 HR, 6 BB 330/386/484, .870 OPS
Fine Tigers and Braves 2b, great defense and much better bat than our current card, good stick vs RHP, good OPB vs LHP

1959 Johnny Logan, MIL, Bats-R, 3L Balance, SS-2e21
LH--3.2 2b, 0 3b, 2.8 HR, 25 BB 488/611/627, 1.239 OPS
RH--2.2 2b, 0 3b, 2.8 HR, 9 BB 351/411/458, .869 OPS
Braves SS for almost all the 1950s, this card is much better than current cards and provides strong OBP & Defense

1966 Donn Clendenon, PIT, Bats-R, 1L Balance, 1b-2e26
LH--1.1 2b, 3.6 3b, 10.1 HR, 6 BB 400/438/782, 1.220 OPS
RH--4.2 2b, 2.3 3b, 8.8 HR, 12 BB 349/421/713, 1.134 OPS
Strong 1960s 1b for Pirates, and was a catalyst for 1969 Mets. His current cards and not that great: This one is.

1969 Sal Bando, OAK, Bats-R, 3L Balance, 3b-2e24
LH--3.2 2b, 1.8 3b, 8.4 HR, 22 BB 407/550/796, 1.346 OPS
RH—3.7 2b, 0 3b, 6.6 HR, 23 BB 274/435/553, .988 OPS
Best season from a great contributor to the A’s dynasty. This card is stronger than his 5.74m card, much better vs LHP.

1969 Ollie Brown, SD, Bats-R, 5L Balance, RF-2(-4)e8
LH--0 2b, 1.2 3b, 12 HR, 14 BB 366/454/778, 1.232 OPS
RH--3.4 2b, 0.2 3b, 3.2 HR, 5 BB 260/301/389, .690 OPS
Powerful Padre Platoon Player. (Alliteration) Nice power vs LHP and strong RF arm.

1972 Joe Rudi, OAK, Bats-R, E Balance, LF-1(0)e2, 3b-4e37
LH--7 2b, 2.7 3b, 5 HR, 0 BB 364/370/621, .991 OPS
RH--6.8 2b, 2.4 3b, 4.8 HR, 4 BB 359/389/610, .999 OPS
Great A's outfielder, finished 2nd in MVP voting, would be a great improvement on the 1976 card.
Led the League in Hits.

1975 Chris Speier, SF, Bats-R, 1L Balance, SS-2e16, 3b-4e37
LH—10.6 2b, 1.4 3b, 0.3 HR, 22 BB 310/450/473, .924 OPS
RH—4.9 2b, 1.4 3b, 3.8 HR, 12 BB 277/357/473, .830 OPS
Giants exp shortstops are terrible, and Speier deserves better. Longtime Giants SS, then with Expos. This beats his .90m card and improves his representation.

1975 Bob Watson, HOU, Bats-R, 3L Balance, 1b-4e11, LF-4(+3)e6, 15 Game INJ Risk
LH—13 2b, 0.7 3b, 4.6 HR, 6 BB 474/508/750, 1.258 OPS
RH—4 2b, 0 3b, 7.3 HR, 3 BB 362/385/610, .995 OPS
1977 Bob Watson, HOU, Bats-R, 2L Balance, 1b-3e10, 3 Game INJ Risk
LH—5.9 2b, 0.4 3b, 9.6 HR, 6 BB 393/444/752, 1.195 OPS
RH—9.2 2b, 1.7 3b, 5.6 HR, 9 BB 314/390/623, 1.013 OPS
Without a doubt, Watson needs an ATG upgrade. 14 year Astro in a 19 year career, it’s just a matter of which of these two cards should be the one.
Both 1975 & 1977 are good and more representative of his fine career.

1977 Al Bumbry, BAL, Bats-L, 2R Balance, LF-3(+1)e4, CF-4(+1)e4, Steal: *4-6/-(16-12)
LH--0 2b, 2 3b, 0.8 HR, 11 BB 310/387/376, .763 OPS
RH--10.7 2b, 0 3b, 1.1 HR, 5 BB 416/449/552, 1.001 OPS
Great leadoff guy for the O's for more than a decade. His other cards are not representative of his career. This card is better offensively than his 1980 card, plus he can play LF (his 1980 card is only eligible in CF and is not great on defense). He can work on those RHP, imagine a platoon with Gene Clines, etc

1977 George Hendrick, SD, Bats-R, E Balance, LF/CF/RF-2(-1)e8, Steal: *4,6/-(15-11)
LH--0.2 2b, 0 3b, 5.1 HR, 13 BB 418/494/581, 1.075 OPS
RH--5.5 2b, 0.3 3b, 8 HR, 11 BB 383/451/696, 1.148 OPS
Very nice card for Hendrick, would improve on his 1982 card by a lot.

1977 Ted Simmons, STL, Bats-S, 1R Balance, C-3(0)e4, RF-4(+1)e16
LH—1.5 2b, 0 3b, 9.2 HR, 14 BB 346/437/659, 1.096 OPS
RH—6 2b, 0.3 3b, 5.9 HR, 11 BB 401/467/646, 1.113 OPS
1978 Ted Simmons, STL, Bats-S, 1R Balance, C-2(+1)e3, LF-4(+1)e8
LH—12.5 2b, 0 3b, 3.5 HR, 14 BB 323/417/568, .984 OPS
RH—8.5 2b, 2.3 3b, 9 HR, 14 BB 313/408/744, 1.152 OPS
Both these cards are strong, and both are balance slightly to the Right, opposite of his two current big cards. 1977 is a better hitting card, while 1978 has a little more power, especially vs RHP. The 1977 card is only a 3-game INJ. Simba should probably be in the Hall, or at least close to it. Underappreciated catching star of the 1970s, arguably the best offensive catcher of the 70s.

1977 Andre Thornton, CLE, Bats-R, 6R Balance, 1b-2e9
LH—0 2b, 0.4 3b, 3.5 HR, 21 BB 141/348/279, .626 OPS
RH—6 2b, 1.6 3b, 11.5 HR, 22 BB 332/499/860, 1.359 OPS
Want a cheaper power source in those RH Power Parks? Check out his line vs RHP. Nobody uses his current card. Here’s one that would get some use.

1978 Ivan DeJesus, CHC, Bats-R, 1L Balance, SS-2e28, Steal: *3-6/-(18-13)
LH--1.2 2b, 3.4 3b, 0.8 HR, 14 Bb 327/421/438, .858
RH--3.5 2b, 0.4 3b, 1 HR, 14 BB 301/398/379, .777 OPS
Longtime Cubs/Phillies SS, SHOULD BE in any set, Not a bad add for low cap leagues.

1979 Jim Rice, Bats R, 2L Balance, lf-4(0)e5, rf-4(0)e5
LH--3.5 2b, 1.7 3b, 14.7 HR, 13 BB 371/452/912, 1.365 OPS
RH--8.3 2b, 0.9 3b, 8.3 HR, 8 BB 372/424/723, 1.147 OPS
Best of the 3 vs LHP by far. Better than 77 vs RHP, and closer than I first thought vs RHP compared to 1978. Different than his other 2 cards with the 2L Balance...….. This was the season he and Fred Lynn made an awesome 1-2 punch.

1979 Mike Ivie, SF, Bats-R, 6L Balance, 1b-2e8, 3b-4e37, 2b-4e41, LF-4(+2)e16
LH--7.3 2b, 0.5 3b, 18.8 HR, 3 BB 392/415/1014, 1.429 OPS
RH--3 2b, 0.5 3b, 7.8 HR, 15 BB 272/380/570, .950 OPS
Giants and Padres first sacker, check out those HR vs LHP.

1979 Joe Ferguson, LA, Bats-R, 4L Balance, C-4(0)e11, LF/RF-4(-2)e7
LH--3.2 2b, 0 3b, 11.1 HR, 17 BB 362/469/767, 1.236
RH--2 2b, 0 3b, 6.3 HR, 29 BB 206/426/474, .900

1980 Art Howe, HOU, Bats-R, 4L Balance, 3b-2e10, 1b-3e23, 2b-3e8, SS-4e48
LH--2 2b, 2.2 3b, 5.3 HR, 9 BB 374/432/601, 1.033 OPS
RH--3 2b, 2.1 3b, 2.3 HR, 12 BB 185/283/334, .617 OPS
Old-time Astro, gives a good platoon vs LHP and plays enough IF positions well to make him a valuable infield sub as well. Give old Art a card and tell Billy Beane he's a jerk.

1983 Alan Wiggins, SD, Bats-S, 1L Balance, LF/RF-1(0)e4, CF-2(0)e4, 1b-3e25, Steal: *2-6/-(19-15)
LH--3.5 2b, 0 3b, 0 HR, 9 BB 316/373/351, .724 OPS
RH--2.5 2b, 0.2 3b, 0 HR, 17 BB 262/378/293, .671 OPS
Great threat for steals back in the 80s, EXCELLENT defense, the season before they decided it'd be great to try him at 2b (oops). Small Ball player.

1985 Tim Raines, MON, Bats-S, 2R Balance, LF-2(+2)e2, Steal: *2-5,10/-(19-15)
LH--0.3 2b, 2.5 3b, 5 HR, 12 BB 364/440/577, 1.018 OPS
RH--6.9 2b, 3.9 3b, 0.9 HR, 15 BB 472/550/659, 1.209 OPS
This card is better vs RHP than the 7m card, and would probably be cheaper due to the 2 in LF

1987 Will Clark, SF, Bats-L, E Balance, 1b-2e16
LH—13.4 2b, 1.6 3b, 6.3 HR, 0 BB 389/398/720, 1.118 OPS
RH—1.8 2b, 0.8 3b, 13.2 HR, 9 BB 340/407/782, 1.189 OPS
This card is different than his 8.01 card. This card has much more power than that current 8.01 card. The 8.01 card is better as far as average and OBP, but this 1987 card shows off more HR power, especially vs RHP (and the doubles vs LHP are pretty nice too). Finished 5th in the MVP Voting this season.

1987 Matt Nokes, DET, Bats-L, 5R Balance, C-4(+1)e1, 3b-4e37, LF/RF-4(+2)e16
LH--0 2b, 0 3b, 5.5 HR, 7 BB 163/241/332, .572 OPS
RH--1.8 2b, 0.3 3b, 10.5 HR, 4 BB 346/388/682, 1.070 OPS

1988 Jose Lind, PIT, Bats-R, 1R Balance, 2b-1e12
LH--4 2b, 0 3b, 0 HR, 9 BB 226/291/267, .557 OPS
RH--1.5 2b, 1.4 3b, 1.1 HR, 6 BB 312/350/385, .735 OPS
Another player from those early 90s Pirates, GREAT defense, should be in set.

1989 Steve Jeltz, PHI, Bats-S, 2L Balance, SS-2e10/2b-2e13/3b-2e30/CF-4(+3)e16
LH--0.2 2b, 1.8 3b, 0.3 HR, 27 BB 293/476/351, .828 OPS
RH--0.2 2b, 1 3b, 1.2 HR, 16 BB 212/336/275, .610 OPS
A good SCRUB add. Really good defense, might be even usable in a platoon vs LHP at low caps with that OBP.

1990 David Justice, ATL, Bats-L, 5L Balance, 1b-4e27, RF-3(0)e11, 15 Game INJ Risk
LH--7.2 2b, 0 3b, 12.4 HR, 16 BB 447/529/929, 1.458 OPS
RH--4.2 2b, 0.8 3b, 9.4 HR, 17 BB 239/359/612, .970 OPS
Rookie of the Year. Ilike the above 1990 card with its big balance toward LHP, not many cards like that in the set.

1991 Greg Gagne, MIN, Bats-R, 2L Balance, SS-1e12
LH--7.9 2b, 2.6 3b, 0.6 HR, 10 BB 292/370/447, .817 OPS
RH--5.4 2b, 0 3b, 1.5 HR, 1 BB 262/282/356, .639 OPS
Another card that should be in the set, and gives the Twins Exp a 1 at SS (they are weak at SS).

1991 Hal Morris, CIN, Bats-L, 4R Balance, 1b-4e12, LF-4(+1)e25
LH--11.9 2b, 1.2 3b, 0.2 HR, 3 BB 275/295/415, .711 OPS
RH--8.6 2b, 0 3b, 4.4 HR, 8 BB 419/462/637, 1.099 OPS
A lot of 1990s minor stars have gotten left out in the stampede to add 2000s cards. Might have been a star had he not been injured so often. That line vs RHP looks pretty strong.....

1992 Pat Listach, MIL, Bats-S, 4L Balance, SS-2e27, 2b-2e17, CF-4(+3)e16, Steal: *2-6/-(18-15)
LH--5.6 2b, 2.2 3b, 1.5 HR, 1 BB 430/436/565, 1.001 OPS
RH--0.4 2b, 0.6 3b, 0 HR, 12 BB 293/372/310, .682 OPS
1992 Rookie of the Year, was an exciting player for Brewers, very nice line vs LHP and plays both 2b & SS well.

1993 Jeff Blauser, ATL, Bats-R, E Balance, SS-3e21
LH—4.2 2b, 1.9 3b, 3.5 HR, 20 BB 288/453/508, .961 OPS
RH—3.6 2b, 0 3b, 1.6 HR, 19 BB 377/515/474, .990 OPS
Oft-requested card from 90s Braves. Very nice offensive card for a SS. Negative with the 3 at SS.

1995 Eric Karros, LA, Bats-R, 1R Balance, 1b-3e8
LH--2 2b, 2.5 3b, 3.6 HR, 10 BB 359/431/545, .975 OPS
RH--5.7 2b, 0 3b, 11 HR, 13 BB 344/435/760, 1.195 OPS
Consistent power source for Dodgers for 12 seasons, good HR numbers vs RHP, cheaper power 1b for a RH park, and an add that should be made based on his longevity.

1996 Ryan Klesko, ATL, Bats-L, 7R Balance, 1b-4e25, LF-4(+1)e7
LH--0 2b, 0.6 3b, 2 HR, 5 BB 175/220/245, .465 OPS
RH--2.6 2b, 0.8 3b, 11.6 HR, 14 BB 312/407/730, 1.138 OPS
His 1999 card is a 9R, but this one is just as good vs RHP and actually has a couple of hits vs LHP. Good platoon option for Braves of the 90s.

1996 Mo Vaughn, BOS, Bats-L, 2R Balance, 1b-4e17, In Game INJ Risk
LH--1.5 2b, 0.3 3b, 7.1 HR, 17 BB 373/501/644, 1.145 OPS
RH--3.9 2b, 0 3b, 11.9 HR, 10 BB 378/464/804, 1.268 OPS

1997 John Valentin, BOS, Bats-R, 3R Balance, 3b-3e29, 2b-3e23
LH--9 2b, 0.6 3b, 3.3 HR, 16 BB 234/362/456, .818 OPS
RH--10.9 2b, 1.4 3b, 3.5 HR, 7 BB 402/451/644, 1.096 OPS
Led League in Doubles, good line vs RHP, decent vs LHP. Don't ask about his 1995 Season, it's a little bit of an outlier on HR power and his defense is a SS-3e22, not enough to get used. This 1997 card is a much better option and highlights what he did: hit a lot of doubles off of the Monstah……….

2000 Matt Lawton, MIN, Bats-L, 2R Balance, RF-2(0)e6, LF-3(0)e6, CF-4(0)e6, 3 Game INJ Risk
LH--2.6 2b, 0.6 3b, 2.4 HR, 6 BB 304/362/415, .776 OPS
RH--11.1 2b, 0 3b, 1.7 HR, 20 BB 341/481/532, 1.013 OPS
A big part of the Twins 1997-2001, and needs a card in the set.

Thanks Andy...

Great idea. :!: :!: :!:

Unfortunately, A LOT of guys use their heart rather than their head when it comes to nominating players.
