"What I would really like to see is Strat occasionally reprice cards downward that never get used, and bump the price upward on those that have the highest usage rates."

Great idea. I agree.

But it ain't happening...

I'd have figured he'd get more support. He'd be an excellent smallball player, I predict in the 6m range, making him affordable, he Steals, he's a 17 Runner, his defense is very usable, he's not a big injury risk, he hits and has good OBP.

Interesting point about players where were traded in midseason, there are some "mistakes" in the ATG set where, partial season cards are used in place of the entire season.

I'd love to see that card added Andy, but it seems to be tough to get votes for older player seasons (of which more are needed) vs. much more recent seasons. Perhaps in the future, voting could be divided into eras? Something like...

Pre-War (before 1947)
2nd half of 20th Century (1948 to 1999)
21st Century (2000 and forward)

...like 15-20 nominations from each group

Could there be a point/year where Strat made a combined card for these players?

As far a Salt & Pepper Martin goes,

I haven't done the research on it, but aren't there enough guys similar to his #'s?
Especially in the Pre-War set?

Just asking.

If so, this is the reason for the lack of love.

@ 3b, in the Pre set, if we guess $6 m for Salt 7 Pepper,

Lindstrom ($6.46)
Zimmerman (6.38)
Steinfeldt (6.16)
Hack
Baker
Traynor
Keltner
Groh
Lobert
Clift
Kurowski
Collins

IDK, there's a lot of able bodied players there...

He'd make a great leadoff guy for a smallball team. All the guys you listed I think of as #2 hitters or lower in the order hitters (Zimmerman doesn't even play 3b to an acceptable level). He is the only guy out of those you listed who combines a 1-17 run rating with a game-usable Steal rating. In fact, only the cheaper Jimmy Collins even runs as a 17, and Martin's offensive numbers are much better than Collins.

So, again, to me he fills a different niche than those other guys, a leadoff hitter with great OBP and speed. As for the Cardinals pre set, he is a totally different kind of hitter than Kurowski. If you want a leadoff hitter for a smallball team, you could do much worse than the 33 Martin card.

I understand/see your point.

I'd just like to fill in the "glaring need" spots with teams.

I would too, but I find when I nominate glaring needs, they don't get any votes, because of the rush to add cards from the 2000s.
