Nolan was plagued by arm trouble throughout his injury shortened career, but still was lifetime 110-70 .611 with a career 3.08 ERA. Nolan was arguably the main SP cog in the Big Red Machine from 1970-1976. While Nolan was with the team and healthy, the Reds won NL West titles in 1970, 1972, 1975, and 1976 to go with world championships in 1975 and 1976 (The Reds won the division in 1973, but Nolan pitched only 10 innings that season and missed all of 1974, when the Reds missed the playoffs, due to arm trouble). A good reverso RHSP at 3L. Post War and Expansion Reds could use another SP.

1. 1999 Fred McGriff TB 1b 4R 339/436/593 vs righties, career high .405 obp, .310 ba, 30 2b, 32 hr, a different type of McGriff card, nice addition to the Rays undermanned group of hitters, Tampa native and original D-Ray, let's bring the Crime Dog home!
2. 1968 Andy Messersmith CAL S/R - We can't seem to get enough votes for the 69 card, so how about his BEST card? 0.97 WHIP, 2.37 ERA, 81 IP 44 hits 74 K's (great 5 man rotation option!)
3. 1922 Ray Grimes CHC 1B .354/.442/.572 45 doubles, 12 triples 159 OPS+, RHH probably a 2 or 3R, career cut short by back problems, gives the CHC Pre another choice besides Cavarretta
4. 2009 Adrian Gonzalez SD 1B. - Gold Glove, 40 homeruns in Petco and no cards in the ATG. (Padres only good 1b in the set is McGriff)
5. 1969 Ollie Brown, SD, 5L Balance, RF-2(-4)e8 no card in ATG
6.1930 George Watkins, STL, Bats-L, 5R Balance, LF/RF-3(-1)e15, CF-4(-1)e15
Talk about an upgrade! Two cards now, at 0.55 and 0.97. In 1930 he came on like Chicxulub - 373/415/621. This is the highest batting average for a rookie in NL baseball history (baseball almanac)
7. 1972 Gary Nolan, Reds, RHSP 15-5 1.99 1.006 Career bests in ERA, WHIP, W-L%. Led NL in W-L%, 2nd in ERA (trailing only Steve Carlton, 1.97 to 1.99), & BB9, 3rd in WHIP (behind Carlton & Don Sutton) and 8th in H9. Nolan was plagued by arm trouble throughout his injury shortened career, but still was lifetime 110-70 .611 with a career 3.08 ERA. A good reverse RHSP at 3L. Post War and Expansion Reds could use another SP.
