Yeah, I find it hilarious that SOM treats the card data as though it were vital to national security. It would take someone the better part of a year to make cards from the card data, and they would simply be guessing about the types of outs and hit locations.

If they would release all the card data, we could make informed choices about the cards we vote in.

No need to worry about Gehrig not being bulletproof. As long as he's over 680 PA (and he is, 709), he won't be injured even for a partial game. I have NEVER seen a 680 PA guy injured at all. If the dubious "not-really-bulletproof" rating gets his price down, it's a bonus.

If anyone can cite a documented incident of a 680 PA player injured for a partial game, I'd be curious to see it. ;)

And, as with everyone, I offer thanks to Bill & Andy for managing this process & keeping us informed about performance.

The top (and most used) cards of Hornsby, Foxx, Mays, Aaron, Sosa, Jeter, Trout, Yount, Helton, Goldschmidt, Chipper Jones, Yaz, Hack Wilson, Al Rosen, Cano, and Babe Herman all qualify for this injury status. I just checked 5 of my recent leagues at caps of $140MM or more and NONE of them was ever listed on the league injury report. I seem to remember seeing this happen to Lloyd Waner in ATG5 or ATG6, but I don't care enough about the issue to go looking.

I did not find a single instance of a 0 additional games injury tabulated. Since, if these guys do get injured, it would be ROG only, the issue is still open for me.

Just a thought ... and I say this with great gratitude to all those who make the new cards/votes/stats/etc possible. It's great work and appreciated.

The vote from 19.2 seems skewed ... Baseball is a great old game. There were tremendous and interesting players back in the day. In the 19.2 vote, there were 10 added from the year 2000 on, five from pre 1960, three from pre 1940 and 0 from pre 1920 (assuming I added correctly).

I get that it's a vote and we accept the vote. But I think the normal tendency is to favor the most recent because that's what is most recent in our mind. It's like when people name the greatest basketball players ever and leave out Bill Russell. Guess I'd just ask that in future votes we keep on open mind to the history of the game. Part of the fun of the alltime great game is that you can pit players from the present era against folks from 1900 or 1890 or 1920 to see how they do.

Open to thoughts. Those are mine.

My understanding is that the cards are still being priced, so the ball isn't quite back in Strat's court yet.

Still expecting the 19.2 cards to be added here in Q2.

Thanks,
Bill
