Starting Pitchers 18.1

please suggest any Starting Pitchers prior to 1990 for inclusion in the 18.1 vote.

1987 Roger Clemens -- Cy Young winner, 20-9, 2.97 era, 1.175 whip, 154 era+, led league in wins, complete games, shutouts, FIP, so/bb, career best innings pitched (281) http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/802753/1680/1/80

1941 Curt Davis -- card with Brooklyn, 13-7, 2.97 era, 1.089 whip, 125 era+, non-asterisk sp/rp, led league in fewest walks per 9 inn (1.6)

1906 Fred Beebe -- RHP split season with CHC and STL, 15-10, 2.93 era, 1.175 whip, led league in strikeouts 171 (in 230 innings), 6.7 hits/9 inn, probably a *SP/RP

1969 Fritz Peterson...led AL in whip @ 0.996...with a 2.55 era...0.5 hr/9...his current card is not one of his five best years and is mostly unplayable...

Since Messersmith has been brought up twice, how about his BEST card, 1975?
