Stud Players - Use this string to carry on the discussions

PostThu Jun 22, 2017 5:14 pm

One direction discussed for an upcoming player add was to focus on high end cards, ones that would be able to make an impact at higher caps. Please use this string to post those nominations so we can come up with a solid list if we go that direction.

For hitters, and ignoring pre 1900 players with cartoonish stats, there are still quite a few 1000 OPS players. I'll list two Astros and one Brown

Moises Alou 2000. 517 PA, 355/416/623 1.039 151 OPS+
Richard Hidalgo 2000 644 PA 314/391/636 1.028 147 OPS+ No card
Harry Rice 1925 420 PA 359/450/568 1.018 152 OPS+ No card 5th in MVP

And here's a 1.174 OPS. Sosa's best year
2001 700+ PA 328/437/737 1.174 203 OPS+ 2nd in MVP

Why doesn't Strat just add all the cards available? They have all but 2 seasons available for the Windows game. The online game has how many players? 2,000 plus? In the entire history of MLB there have been over 19,000 major league baseball players.Granted that includes the one AB one IP careers.Leagues can always be custom made to limit an over - indulgence of superstar cards per league. Its SOM's game on their website there shouldn't be licensing issues.

I suggest we just have a card nomination again for 50 cards. We open it up again except this time we ask for everyone to nominate a pitcher and a hitter and then we do a poll for each and take the top 25 for each.
