Cabrera's Triple Crown league was in 2012.

I would suggest people consider great players who don't have cards---Chris Sale---but it looks we did good here! And the new kids on the block. How Much are Trout and Harper gonna be???

I hope we did the equitably enough, as I did figure we'd just have another round, rather than.....31 through?

Anyways, thanks Rosie and everybody else

There was no mistake there. Speaking for the Tigers' nominating team, the 2012 triple crown year was nice, but the 2013 year was even better!

The following are cards that need to be included. I see how the voting is going and I see that players who have multiply cards are going to get another while some of the below players have NONE or one that is NOT their BEST/Better season which is deserving.

MVP Cards - ALL need to be included.
Jim Bottomly - Best Year
Ryan Braun - NO Card

Cy Young - ALL need to be included.
Jake Peavy - NO Card

NO Cards
Garrett Anderson
Grant Balfour
Dante Bichette
Steve Finley
Bob Fothergill
Phil Nevin

BEST/Better Season Upgrade
Dan Brouthers
Bill Buckner
Chet Lemon
Fred McGriff
Pete Runnels
Rennie Stennett
Mickey Vernon

Do we REALLY need another of the following when the above either have NO cards or NOT their BEST!
Rocky Colavito - Has 2 cards and this will be 3. Yes it is a better card.
Randy Johnson - Same here. 2 cards become 3.
Eddie Joost - yes he is needed but he already has 2 cards. Next time we vote him in. We've gone this long without his better card what is another FEW months? In the scheme of things it's really no time at all.
Ralph Kiner - See comments of Johnson and Joost.
Sam Mcdowell - See KIner comment. Yes it's an AWESOME season indeed.

I do like that the SOM Community got involved and I hope we ALL can keep this process moving forward, I have enjoyed it greatly. The choices for the voting made me wish that SOM would have just included the WHOLE lot. :D

A BIG Thank You to Rosie for putting this ALL together. :D

Not sure I agree with the logic of the last post. Arguing for another McGriff card vs Joost for example. Joost gets a major upgrade if he gets in. McGriff is like Eddie Murray, he pretty much had the same season every year for years. Finley had one decent year and Bichette was just Coors muscle. Don't think those cards would get much play outside of franchise leagues unless they were very attractively priced. McDowell on the other hand has a very unique card that will get plenty of play. On the other hand, Lemon and Johnson probably should wait until after some of the guys with no cards get in. Just my two cents.

Bruce, the logic is simple. Lets try to get players in with NO cards and Upgrades for players with 1 card. I have seen posts complaining that PAST MVP and Cy Young winners should be included. Maybe NOT some of the last few year winners. But that is up for debate. Players with 2 cards are about to become 3. What, those can't wait for the next round to be voted in? Yes they would they be GREAT adds NOW! But who do we blame? SOM for NOT just adding ALL of them! Whatever the final 50 are I'm ALL-IN and looking forward to the next round!

Frank, I get your logic. I wasn't implying that your argument was not logical, I'm just not sure that your criterion yields the best additions. We clearly agree that all the cards should be included and that SOM's miserliness is at fault.

I don't see the point of another Randy Johnson card, or Lemon for that matter. But a Joost upgrade is like the Eddie Stanky upgrade we got, a game changer for that player. And with Joost he was a top 15 MVP vote getter for about five years, and his two cards don't at all reflect what he did. The McDowell card will have a major impact on the game. Colavito possibly as well, though not as dramatically. In the case of players that already have two cards, adding a third that will potentially change who we normally draft for our teams is more important to me than adding a player with no cards that may not get used much, if at all. And I think that is the key point on which we differ.

I also did vote for 12 of the 17 guys you advocated for in your post. I also voted for Leiter and Farrell who met your criteria for no cards or only one card but who weren't on your list. ;)
