Seeing as how Sutton and Ryan have multiple cards, I'd like to campaign for 2004 Brad Lidge. Astros need a closer, plus this is a great strikeout relief card that could be used at all caps

I don't know how to explain this process. I sign up to be an Ambassador, nominate 11, and the committee chooses 0.

If I were to rank the nominations now, after reading everyone's input, my choices would be:
1. Octavio Dotel 2002 – no card in 15 year career, 98 innings as a reliever, with a .88 whip and 11 k/9
2. Turk Farrell 1963 – only one card in set, as a pure reliever, but he was a legitimate starter, .97 whip in 202 innings [I have to believe this is a better pitching card than Oswalt’s 1.169, Ryan’s 1.121 (for Ryan I think his best year, as a Ranger, should be the choice for this addition) or Sutton’s 1.015 (note the nomination should be 1981, as he played for LA in 1980)
3. Lance Berkman 2006 – only one card in set, this is a huge upgrade, at 1.041 ops, finished 3rd in MVP, 1b and OF
4. Moises Alou 2000 – only one card in set, none as Astro, nice upgraded card to 355/416/623.
5- JR Richard 1980 .92 whip over 9k/9 [I think he would get a lot of votes]
6 – Bill Spiers 1997, no card in 13 year career. Nice utility option 320/438/481
7 - Richard Hidalgo 2000, no card in 9 year career. 314/391/636
8 - Morgan Ensberg 2005 no card in 8 year career. A nice third base option, finished fourth in MVP 283/388/557
9 - Brad Lidge 2004 no card

Ratioman - I'm sure Andy has already communicated this, we welcome your input! We're just trying to keep this process moving where we didn't see any one sign up. Tks!

Actually I sent two PM replies, Andy, but one is stuck in "outbox". This PM technology is out of 1991. Let me know if you got both please.

Some great choices. Nothing much to add except to second Andy's desire to see the 1976 Watson card. http://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/742658/1670/1/70

Thanks for checking in on this Astros thread ;)

Well, the people spoke last time, and we got the equivalent of Blutarski's GPA. 0.0

So here would be my revised list:

1. Richard Hidalgo 2000, no card in 9 year career. 314/391/636
2. Octavio Dotel 2002 – no card in 15 year career, 98 innings as a reliever, with a .88 whip and 11 k/9
3. Lance Berkman 2006 – only one card in set, this is a huge upgrade, at 1.041 ops, finished 3rd in MVP, 1b and OF
4. Moises Alou 2000 – only one card in set, none as Astro, nice upgraded card to 355/416/623.
5- Turk Farrell 1963 – only one card in set, as a pure reliever, but he was a legitimate starter, .97 whip in 202 innings [I have to believe this is a better pitching card than Oswalt’s 1.169, Ryan’s 1.121 (for Ryan I think his best year, as a Ranger, should be the choice for this addition) or Sutton’s 1.015 (note the nomination should be 1981, as he played for LA in 1980)
6 –JR Richard 1980 .92 whip over 9k/9 [I think he would get a lot of votes]
7 - Bill Spiers 1997, no card in 13 year career. Nice utility option 320/438/481
8 - Morgan Ensberg 2005 no card in 8 year career. A nice third base option, finished fourth in MVP 283/388/557
9 - Brad Lidge 2004 no card 8th in Cy Young, .91 whip
10 - Bob Watson 1976 As I have said, I have nothing against adding a Bob Watson, but with an eye on the super popular franchise leagues, the Astros have so many needs. The only reason people pick "Astros hitting" is for Bagwell, so to add Bob Watson just doesn't help Astros franchise leagues.
11- Roger Metzger 1973. Part of Astros history, this was his gold glove year, and he led the league with 14 triples. His 622 OPS and 74 OPS+ is horrific, but with over 600 PAs at least he will show up to your low cap team every day.
