But being a Minnesotan, I've noticed some glaring misses in the ATG8 selection. No Justin Morneau? The guy won the MVP in '06 and came in second in '08. No Torii Hunter? IMHO he will get HOF votes. Not sure he'll get in, but he was certainly no slouch. There are others I'd like, but I'll leave it at that since it sounds like getting new cards is difficult.

They were considered, but they didn't make the cut - there are only a few slots available and way too many wants. Hey, I thought Spiers should get in.

Hunter absolutely! And, as much as I am opposed to active players getting in ATG, since let's face it, Morneau is about done, he does need a card.

Ellis Burks 1996.

While I'm voting for a Colorado Rockies player how about the following to be added regardless to help that Franchise. I'll call it it the Fill in the Gaps.

Andres Galarraga 1993 or 1996
Eric Young 1996
Vinny Castilla 1998
Dante Bichette 1995
Matt Holliday 2007
Carlos Gonzalez 2010
Ubaldo Jimenez 2010
Manny Corpas 2007
Brian Fuentes 2008
Steve Reed 1995

This can be done for every team for every ERA. Just saying!

How about instead of just adding new cards, we try to get SOM to cull out some bad or redundant cards. As part of this, maybe even recommend certain cards that should be repriced. IMHO a periodic pruning of the card inventory is just as important as adding new cards every so often.

What SOM really needs to do is to finally make all of the cards in the ATG8 set their respective super-advanced versions. The majority of the cards are not. All the cards should be on the same proverbial playing field.

I am all in favor of this....... As long as only the cards you use are eliminated and the ones I use are left in the set.

I agree. Rosie, wonder if you could talk the powers that be in to making one of the adds a swap out of all the chevy cards where cadillac cards are available. You get them to agree and I will go through and put together the list.

Let me approach them and see...how many do you think we are talking about?

not instead of--

in addition to-- below I posted a thread about adding more useful cards for all caps, but mainly ones that would be used in high caps--- why?

b/c its been a year since we had any real additions (other than a few mid-late rounders) at that level.

Ok let's get started on the 17.2 card add. Per the cadence I outlined in the topic 'annual cadence', this add is WIDE OPEN, that means nominate whomever you'd like. But just like the old days of the card nominations you get one so make it good. I'll start a new topic to collect all the submissions...then I'll schedule the vote.

Cheers
Rosie
