Who will be in spots 2-12 For The Final League?

PostFri Mar 09, 2018 3:38 pm

There seem to be 11 spots open for the final league of 12.... There are not 12 spots, there are 11, because Jimmy_C has the BEST record in ALL three of the leagues he is in. That is simply amazing!...

I have the best record in 2 out of 3 of my leagues (My 1960s team is in last place 74-82), Jimmy_C is an amazing 3 for 3!....

So along with Jimmy_C who will be the other 11 in the finals league?

Does anyone remember in years past how many points were needed to make the final 12?

Strat-O-Matic strikes again.... IM Bacchus was cruising right along ranking between 8-12 across three leagues (leading the division in 2 and wild card in the 3rd) up to game 132 in League 1 at which point in time the Brawlers go 4-14 to pancake out of the play-offs. To make matters worse, my #2 league team does nearly the same thing going from a 10 game lead to a 1 game lead while my #3 league team drops from contention to 7 games under .500. The Strat gods actually allowed one team to lose 3 out of 5 games when up by 5 runs in the 9th inning and another to lose 5 extra inning games when ahead going into the bottom of the 8th... I love this game... but sometimes I hate this game. ;)

In a major surprise to everyone including myself, I have an outside shot at a spot in the final 12: my 60s team is in he playoffs, my 70s and 80s teams are hovering around .500 but both on the upswing. Obviously I need a playoff-bound 90s team.

What does not surprise me at all is Jimmy C absolutely crushing it. If I would make a list of toughest and most consistent competitors in the Mystery Leagues, he’d be high on it. There are a lot of very familiar names at the top of the leader boards, but surprisingly and encouragingly there are a couple of very new faces too. And this is by far the best I’ve done in one of these too, so hopefully I didn’t just jinx everything.

I doubt i will make it after my 60's team tanked in the 2nd half and missed the playoffs. Those 5 points will probably loom large towards the end.

Amazingly, my 80's team has committed 72 errors in 69 games and my 70's team has committed 71 in 132. I had to go back and forth and check the numbers a couple times, that hardly seems possible.
