franky, I bet you'd take 81 wins right now for your 60s squad.
Rosie, I'm currently 8-28, but you'd lose that bet, you could give me 162 wins and I wouldn't take it. Anyway, as commissioner, the most difficult job is to get enough people to enter their teams so no league is left hanging. There is no big excess of people volunteering as fillers, so I have a strong preference for getting players to stay in. Keep in mind that the average score including playoffs is ((81)(12) + 5(4) + 5(2) + 5)/12) = 84 and the average score to make last year's tournament was 383/12 = 96 per season. Finally, a critical point is that these 2 players wanted to participate - they didn't want to sit out a season. Again, my prime motivation is to get the leagues filled, I would never reward a player for intentionally sitting out a season.

If you give me a choice of 81 points or playing a decade, I choose playing the decade. The 81 points is a 15 point penalty in which you now have to average 101 points to be at the point level that made it to the Final 12 last year. I support Franky's decision to give each of those owners 81 points in the league they didn't make it into.

I think 81 points is too generous. I'd give 70, more in line with a last place finish.

Instead of guessing give 1 less than the worst record across all the leagues.

Looking forward to the 80s and 90s, we start with two holes to fill that are currently occupied by Pats09 and AdamKatz. There are 3 people that. at one time, wanted to compete in the tournament - Pats09, newsgame and salmonbellies. I realize any kind of offer to them is outside the official rules. Another option to maintain the tournament is fillers. So, before I try to make some accommodation, let me ask: Is anyone willing to make a firm commitment to being a filler for both the 80s and 90s?

Franky,

As you know i want to participate in the tourney , and i hope that can be achieved. With that said, i know i helped cause that issue, so i will commit to the 80's and 90's as a filler if need be. I hope that shows my willingness to do whats right and also i hope you still decide to include me in the tourney! I badly want to compete. LOL ! :)

Thanks, Keith

Pats there will definitely be a place for you in the remainder of the Tournament. There's still one more slot left to fill. I'm still undecided on the points because the mystery tournament has traditional rules and it isn't fair if a break from traditional rules keeps a player out of the finals. But it also isn't good if a league doesn't fill on time - so I feel in a bind here.

Hi Franky,

Whatever think is fair. Also, for the 80's tourney. Not sure when you will start filling the leagues, but i am out of the country from 2/9 to 2/17 with limited access. I will have some, periodically. I do have a team ready to go, so if start the leagues next week, i will be set. Otherwise, let me know.

Thanks, Keith

pats - given the need to fill leagues, I think it is fair to give someone in your position (who accidently missed a deadline) 81 points. However, I can't change the rules in a way that could displace someone else from the finals. Except, if I finish 12th and you finish within 81 points of me, then you can take my place in the finals.

Hi Franky,

I would not even consider taking your spot. I will play out the remainder of the tourney with a zero for the sixties ,as I committed to doing. If matching the lowest score from the sixties is exceptable, I would take it. If not. No worries.
