SP pitcher question...

PostSun Oct 02, 2022 11:39 am

When choosing a starting pitcher for your roster I have a question. If there were two pitchers that I wanted to pick which one of these two would be the choice?

Pitcher One Pitcher Two

ERA is 3.25 ERA is 3.25
Record 10-20 Record 20-10

All the other stats are the same lets say for these two pitchers. Walks, K's. endurance, Cost of player the same, Hr's allowed, etc.

Does HAL take in account the wins and loses of these two pitchers when playing that certain card? Would he give the edge to the player with more wins?

Absolutely not. Wins and losses don't matter.

jjii66 is correct.

And for that matter, ERA doesn't mean a thing either. All that matters is his Strat card. You have to look at how many hits, walks, and homerun chances are on his card. Real life ERAs are affected by a pitcher's real-life ballpark and defense, which year the card is based on, and just plain luck. (Of course, in-game Strat ERAs are affected by the same.)

Compare the cards closely and look for the little things. It makes all the difference.
