Was just wondering if anyone’s done a deep dive into the number of home vs road starts a pitcher gets in a given season?
I know depending on schedule league size and rotation size the number will change for every starter. I looked into it a little on my teams and it seems the top spot gets the most home starts every time (I only looked at a handful so far.all 4 man rotations Most was 24 by newhouser)
So I guess my questions are
does the no one spot always get the most home starts ?
Would you think the bigger advantage is having your top guy with more home starts ?
Is there an advantage to positioning your 3 or 4 into one of the top spots to boost home starts ? (Sacrificing a start no 1/2 get one extra start in 4 man rotation)
