No SS left for Championship, how does HAL sub?

So...anyone know the decision tree for HAL in this situation?

24 team keeper league, rosters are limited to 28 players (no 40-man) and no free agents...
My team carried only 1 ss as a result (Brandon Crawford), a good season with very low injury chance.
Naturally, he got beaned in game 4 of the Championship series, and will now miss the rest of the series.

That means HAL will put a non-ss there for games 5-7, and he will be a 5 defense, and that's a disaster, obviously.

My question is, is there any jumping jacks I can do to get HAL to put the best bench HITTER at ss instead of my lowest-salary player, who is a 2b?

I don't have a clue really--but you can try setting all your extras, except the one you want to start, as avoid LH and Avoid RH---my understanding is hal uses those settings for starting lineups when someone is hurt.

The PH settings take over after game has started.

That's helpful, and I didn't think of it, thanks.

Somehow won with the 5-ss last night in game 5. He went with the low salary 2b as the replacement. I'll see if I can force a different direction with "avoids"

I thought he would use a middle inf and if a 2nd basemen was a 3 he would be a 4 at ss ....
if a 2 he would be a 3....

I had a situation in a league where both my SS were injured and Bryce Harper was used. So I'd be curious to know how backups are determined in these situations...
