Mop-up

I have a question about Mop-up.

The rules say:
Mopup: Any inning; Leading or trailing by 7+ runs

Does it mean that all conditions must be there? so, Any inning AND Leading or trailing by 7+ runs

or it can be, Any inning OR Leading or trailing by 7+ runs

Thanks

Thanks,

then it is strange as I saw several time a SP substituted by one of my 2 Mop-up when I was leading or trailing only by 4 or 5 runs
And Mop-up is clearly written in the PLAY by PLAY

The rule might actually be 5 runs, however being designated Mop-up doesn't mean they are limited to Mop-up situations. They can get put in anytime.
Did you check the play-by-play? Here is Mop-up being put in at 5-0.

My experience is that HAL puts in mop-up at 5.

I agree with the 5 run Trailing/leading mopup---I think it is 7 runs in the cd-rom game, but evidently it has always been 5 runs in Strat-on-line--though I didn't play when sporting news ran the site.

To me it has been a bigger problem with the 2017 set--as no lead is safe with all the HR hitters--I have largely abandoned using mopup roles, but may have to go back to putting a better reliver in a mopup role--the problem with doing that is you also have to use that pitcher in other roles or Hal will tend to avoid your mopup guy with smaller leads
