It's interesting that in game 45 Ramos pinch hit for McDonald in the bottom of the ninth with the score 5-3, and made the last out. McDonald followed Hechavarria in the batting order. Hechavarria, rated a "C" for "hit and run", made the second out by attempting a "hit and run". Not sure what to make of this, but, HAL did you no favors in that game. HAL was smart enough to recognize that Hechavarria was a weak hitter and tried to put on the hit-and-run, but, HAL wasn't smart enough to recognize a better alternative. It's as if the game logic for putting on the hit-and-run when there is a weak hitter had a higher priority than replacing the weak hitter with a pinch-hitter.

Big roster, Ramos or Dickerson would be great vs. RH pitching.

Thanks. Now I know roster size has nothing to do with HAL's pinch-hitting decisions.

Team ended up tanking anyway, my worst entry in the tournament and the first to finish below .500.
