Is my luck just bad or am I missing something?

I've had a few teams in ballparks with singles for both L & R at 10 (so around 50%) and HR for both L & R around 8 (so around 40%) ... yet my hitters have combined for 35-40% singles rates and 30% HR rates.

Out of a handful of teams, my ballpark rates are across the board 10-20% lower.

It is accurate that the card result is thrown out completely and the ballpark is used right?

Thought maybe I am missing something.

In the online game.... Say on a roll of 6 the result is a ballpark symbol followed by HR 1-4 and flyout 5-20. Is that entire result discarded and replaced by the ballpark...which is what I thought, or is it only a ballpark rating if the roll is 1-4 because technically the ballpark symbol is only in front of the HR 1-4?

I assumed that entire result is thrown out so my chances for HR vs Flyout improve to 1-8 and 9-20 to match the ballpark. Essentially the ballpark improves the hitter from 20% to 40% success.

I've seemed to have bad luck on some teams where my slugger goes 5 for 20 for ballpark HRs in 1-10 stadium but then on the same team I have some scrub that goes 7 for 10 on ballpark HRs.

Yes, when a ballpark homerun (or ballpark single) is rolled, that is the only thing that matters. Whatever else the card reads is ignored.

You could be having some bad luck. However, remember that your home ballpark only accounts for 50 percent of your games.

Be careful to remove your "weak" hitters from your calculations when estimating the gap between stadium ratings and actual results, because all homerun readings on the pitcher card will result as a fail for weak hitters regardless of the homerun setting.

You are talking about players with no home run chance at all from one or both sides of the plate right?

Relative to the bulletproof catcher rule in the online game.... if I carry one catcher who gets injured then in all but very odd circumstances my 2nd catcher won't be injured until the first is healthy again.

Does this apply if my 2nd catcher has a primary position other than catcher?

For example, my starting catcher is only rated at catcher. My backup's primary position is the outfield but he has catcher rating. My backup is not a starter at any position but he is a backup at catcher and in the outfield. Is he still bulletproof if my starting catcher goes down?
