question on # 6 and 7 spots in the batting order. higher on base or higher slugging? I am using Asdrubal Cabrera and Carlos Gomez as examples/ I've been hitting Cabrera 6 but I'm thinking of switching it because while Gomez has lower on base, I think he'll knock in more runs there and hits into far less DP's. Opinions?

Steve it really depends on what the rest of your lineup looks like and where you play but id hit Cabrera 6 and Gomez 7 giving him another person getting on in front of him also he doesn't hit for that high of an average

One article stated that in the playoffs you should save your best non-asterisk starter for game 3. I don't understand the logic in that. Could someone elaborate?

Dumb question:

Do relievers need rest? If my R2 pitches 2 innings, is he good to go the next game?

From the game rules:

27.64 Relief pitchers cannot be used more than two straight days. After pitching two straight days, he must rest at least one day.

Exceptions occur though.

One article in the playing tips section stated that in the playoffs you should save your best non-asterisk starter for game 3. I don't understand the logic in that. Could someone elaborate? here is the quote:

"A strategy often overseen, though, for teams whose rotation mostly relies on RELIEVERS , is to have, other things being equal, your best non *SP for the third game, in case your relievers were used for both game 1 and 2. If such a thing happen, then you'll be able to set your best pitcher appropriately for game 3. Furthermore, he will still be available for games 2 and 7 in the Finals. And even if you don't use your best relievers in the first two games, your best starter might give a very beneficial complete game in game 3, so that your relievers get the call for both game 4 and 5. "
