Garcia's Blog 1/12/17- Mystery Card Tournament

PostThu Jan 12, 2017 10:32 pm

Hey guys,

Hope everyone had a happy New Years!

I wanted to take a little time tonight to talk about the Mystery Card Championship, which is taking sign-ups right now!

So let's start with that one- the Mystery Card Players Championship.

This tournament is just what it sounds like- a competition using the four mystery card sets- Superstar Sixties, The '70s Game, Back to the '80s, and Back to the '90s. Participants must play in all four events, each event using one of the different player sets. A point system (broken down below) is used to determine the top 12 managers after the four events are completed. These 12 managers then play in a Champions League to determine the winner!

The Mystery Card point system is below:

Point System / Tiebreakers

- 1 point for each regular season win
- 5 points for winning a regular season division title
- 5 points for winning the wild card position
- 5 additional points for making the finals
- 5 additional points for winning a league championship

Tiebreakers
1. Championships won
2. Finals made
3. Playoffs made
4. Regular season total wins
5. Pick 3 winner

Anyone can join this tournament. The list is already at 134 people but in order to participate you must join now! Sign-ups end on January 19th, with play beginning on January 23rd.

The official sign-in is here.

The official tournament page here.

If anyone has any questions, check out the Mystery Tournament forum or e-mail us and we'll be happy to help you in the right direction.

Two other tournaments also run during the year- the Players Championship (20xx) and Barnstormer's Tournaments (ATG).

Both of these tournaments run a little differently as a Semi-Finals event is needed to determine the final three participants of the Champions League. Both tournaments are in that stage right now, some already going through the playoffs of the SemiFinals events. Good luck to everyone finishing out the Semis and to those who already qualified for the Champions Leagues!

That's all I have for today. As always, if anyone has any questions you can e-mail 365support@strat-o-matic.com. Talk to everyone next week!

-John
