Injury Rating Error

The new release of players included the 2007 Aaron Rowand. He played in 161 games for the Phillies and had 684 PA. His injury rating is no more than three games, but per the start-o-matic injury guidelines 680+ PAs is injury for remainder of game. Can strat-o-matic fix this error?

They just use AB + walks, which for Rowand equals 659.

That's wrong, though.

It might be arbitrary, but it's not wrong. As shown on the link jjii66 posted, Strat-O-Matic chose 680 AB+BB as the minimum for durability. They could have chosen 680 AB+BB+HPB, or 800 AB, or anything else - there is no right or wrong answer.

Exactly.

If you want to be technical using PA or AB+BB is not going to be accurate durability. Why?
Because as a result real life leadoff hitters are more durable than 8th place hitters simply because they would have more plate appearances even if they played the same number of games/innings as the 8th place hitter. This decision by Strat was flawed from the beginning.

Having said that the chances of them admitting they made a mistake is slim. Best advice is to accept it for what it is and do not let this prevent you from enjoying the game.
