Play by Play improvements

PostSun Oct 14, 2012 9:21 am

I think the play by play thing could be vastly improved, some simple things, some more complicated things. Feel free to add to this list:

1) Add fatigue status to the pitchers display
2) Use real ballpark images
3) Show dice rolls as a graphic (as the CD-ROM game does)
4) Show the cards (as the CD-ROM game does)
5)

Good ideas!

My pet peeve:

1) Add fatigue status to the pitchers display
2) Use real ballpark images
3) Show dice rolls as a graphic (as the CD-ROM game does)
4) Show the cards (as the CD-ROM game does)
5) A little more (or maybe a lot more) "splainin' Lucy" on the "WTF just happened there" plays.

6) Show an updated live boxscore
7) audio? have home fans cheering (or booing) as needed? national anthem? Take me out to the ball game?
8) attendance. this one is always fun for me. If a team is doing well, reflect it in attendance (poor attendance for a bad team at home, but rising attendance when a good team rolls into town). Have an attendance chart, how hard would this be?
9) this one is a reach, but how about a mid season all star game? The top two managers (or whatever works for each format) get to manage the teams and the managers all vote to see who gets onto each roster.
10) more access to better stats. the engine already does this, let us have them!

It's funny seeing a post after 8 years by the guy who started the topic. Hmm...has it been long enough before I make another suggestion? Yeah, I think 8 years is long enough...

What's really funny? I hadn't looked at who posted this originally, it just seemed good so I piled on.

Only found out it was me when you pointed it out.

Shows you how much SOM listens to us, and how useless this thread is. Most of the suggestions I had 8 years ago, and still have today, are already part of the computer code that they use. This isn't rocket science. It isn't product development, it's simple coding and customer appreciation.

I'm gonna keep posting here to keep this on top, if for no other reason than to warn others that posting here is a waste of their time. Don't bother, they won't listen, they won't do even the simplest things to improve the game.

So sad. This game could be so much better but they are lazy, cheap, and indifferent. We should go on strike, but then I fear they'd just pull the plug and walk away. So we'll be the addicts that keep coming back for more of the same simple product. Enjoy your milquetoast, rusty, neglected product SOM. We sure love it.

Feel free to post your suggestions here, just follow up when they ignore you. Call them out.
