In updating the rosters, I see that grover already traded his 7th rd pick earlier -- stand by for correction...

Hi guys,

Just reviewing the future plans, there's one thing I don't understand. Why wait until 6/1 to draft if the cards come out months before that (usually around February)?

Hi Padre, cards come out in early March and there are already a bunch of other keeper leagues which draft in the first several weeks following that.

For managers (like me) who are in a bunch of keepers, it's better to spread the leagues out over the year.

Franchise records updated at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc ... i=1#gid=10

Congratulations to jflatour99 and ggrover15 for making it to the playoffs again. Somehow, it is only fitting that, at the end of our 11-season arc of non-stop play, our 2 winningest managers are playing for the title. One of them will become our first manager to win 3 titles.

Jean-Francois has the best regular season record, with over 1,000 wins, while Greg has the best playoff record, at 34-19.

May the best team win!

End of the retro era...

Congratulations to the managers of the Reelin' in the Years League on completing an eleven-season arc of almost non-stop play. I hesitated for a moment when I started the league in March 2010 -- wondering if folks would stick with it -- but we've had very little turnover. Eleven of our managers have played for at least ten of the seasons, which is pretty damn good!

There has been reasonable balance in the league, too. Every team has made it to the playoffs at least once, as has every manager except the one who joined us in the latest season. Seven different managers have won titles so far, with Padre and Grover winning two each, and JF Latour just bagging his third.

And speaking of those New York Yankees -- er, JF's Montreal Expos -- they have won over 100 regular-season games in each of the past three seasons and have played in the East division for an unprecedented seven straight seasons. I guess it must be time for somebody to knock 'em off, right?

I look forward to seeing all of you back in your Reelin' dugouts when we start the draft for the 2012 season(s) on June 1...
