2 for the Money

PostThu Aug 30, 2012 6:00 pm

The players are divided 1st by Pre-war and post.
Then within each of those there is a division by city (see below)
In a 2 round serpentine draft, you pick an area- so you'll end up with 2 - i.e the Boston Post war and the Chicago White Sox pre-war. Can be 1 of each group or 2 of either.
Your team will be made up entirely of the players within these areas. No exceptions, so draft wisely and watch for the need for subs and RPs.
We play a 100mil DH league.
Any player on mutiple drafted franchises, will be award to the franchise which has the highest value and, if that team dosen't draft him, any other team to which they're carded could pick them up as free agents. Every team still can only have players that are carded to their franchise.
The team to which the player is carded, will determine which area he will be eligible for.

One problem from the past: There are no RP-onlys on the NeL. How about letting that team simply pick any 3 RP-onlys with a salary of not more than $1.25 mil?

also is the rule suggested by bontomn still in effect?

I think you need to set rules for players carded to more than one team. If I were to choose the pre Red Sox, for example, and didn't get Speaker because the pre Indians happened to draw a higher autodraft spot, I'd be upset. Pethaps simply award them to the franchise where they have the highest value and, if that team didn't draft them, any other team to which they're carded could pick them up as free agents, but would have to use the lower-valued card for their team? If that's done, I'm in.

Please read the rules at the top of the thread - multi-carded players will be awarded to the team with the highest salary

Yes the NeLers don't have any RP only, but you get a 2nd team - draft carefully

sorry for being a little confused but does this mean that the last part of bontomn's suggestion is in effect

if that team didn't draft them, any other team to which they're carded could pick them up as free agents, but would have to use the lower-valued card for their team? If that's done, I'm in.

in other words i take it to mean that the version of a player you use must have a card for your team, meaning in the case of someone like hoyt wilhelm he can only be used as a reliever by the white sox or angels if baltimore does not draft him and baltimore can only use the sp/rp version?
