I’ve noticed a roster error today.

Terry has Heliot Ramos on his active roster, Iron has the same players listed as a prospect.

Terry drafted him in 2018 while iron drafted him as a prospect in 2021.

I’m not sure how this has gone unnoticed for this long.

I’m fairly busy at work and don’t have time to look back farther at it.

If anyone knows of this is just an error please let me know.

If it was just missed by all of us then Ramos is with Terry and iron will be granted an extra prospect pick at the end of the draft.

If Terry drafted Ramos in 2018, he would have had to promote, drop or trade him in the spring of 2020. There's no trades posted involving Ramos.

I wasn't in the league in early 2020, so I can't locate the 2020 player drop thread - if someone can take a look at that to see if Terry dropped or promoted Heliot Ramos (those would have been the only two options), that will help us determine the proper status.

It may have to wait for you tonight, Ryan. We probably owe Terry a supplemental FA draft pick based on how early he was drafted and that an action would have had to be taken by Terry in 2020. That likely would have turned Heliot back into the prospect pool, making the 2021 selection by Kevin a valid pick.

Terry promoted Ramos to his roster on March 9, 2020 prior to the drafts.

I can't find any other actions regarding Ramos after this promotion. So it's ultimately your final edict, Ryan, but looks like Ramos belongs to Terry and Kevin gets a supplemental prospect pick?

I think that is the only way to handle it.

That's fine by me. The other option would be for Kevin to just forfeit the pick since we're all responsible for our own prospect research. I prefer the more decent-to-other-humans option.

Thanks, Grant. I prefer the decent-to-other humans option too. Especially because I think I had started some of the clerical and administrative help with the league by the time drafts happened last spring, so I'm most likely the one that entered the pick by Kevin onto the google roster in error.

I am sure I didn't check every entry last year to ensure no duplications. I tried to do that this year, and hopefully I was thorough. We're all responsible for our picks, but we are all busy, and I know in leagues that I'm not involved in entering the data, I am certain I lean on the commish to cover all the checks. This is an imperfect system with all the manual data entry; we're all busy and this is an avocation, not a vocation. The commish pay really sucks for the hours required, too!

I probably didn't look at active rosters for a younger minor leaguer. Extra pick for me is fair.
