If there were no trades I would agree to just skip the supp draft, but under the circumstances I see no choice but to conduct the spring draft as usual. If Jerlins were to just pick up 2 players he would basically be getting the best 2 players available for next season. I like the idea of one round but I think Jerlins would have to agree with that as he would be getting the a bit of a bum deal there.
Another option would be is if MFL and Jerlins agreed to instead make the deal MFL's first 2 picks in the spring FA draft, which is what the supp draft will pretty much amount to anyways, but again they would both have to agree to it.
So again, barring MFL and Jerlins coming to someother agreement I think we have to conduct the draft. (or option 2 if Jerlins ok with it)
Having the 1 round is ok with me. While I lose the 2nd rd pick, that disadvantage is made up by the fact I got to see almost a full year of stats. I think option 2 is fairest for both myself and in the overall interest of the league.
I actaully goofed up and meant to say that Jerlins would get BOTH picks after one round if he needed tham, he'd get as many as needed to get him to a 40 man roster. But I assumed since he had 2 picks in rd 1 and would only drop 1, giving him a 37 man roster before the draft, he'd only need 1 pick, he'd esentially still get his deal with MFL that way.
This is really the way I'd like to go truth be told, and unless anyone has strong objections, seeing as how Jerlins has signed off on it, this is what I'd like to implement.
