Honestly I was hoping someone wouldn't get it together this week. You guys would not believe the surgeries I'm having tomorrow morning...but I suppose I can get my roster together Sunday before games start, opiates or not. I won't hold the league up.
Tomorrow morning, 7 am, I'm getting 5 procedures on my left ankle:
"Left calcaneal osteotomy; lateral ligament reconstruction with allograft; repair of peroneus brevis and peroneus longus tendons; first metatarsal osteotomy; plantar fascia release."
In other words, repairing a torn tendon, reinforcing the instep side with a screw, collapsing my arch permanently, shaving down my heel bone to create a different landing surface, and cutting the tendon that holds my big toe up. MINIMUM 6 weeks of no standing and no walking. Because I have had my left hand reconstructed, I can never again bear my body weight with my hand...so no crutch. I have to use a platform crutch on that side. Also a self-employed psychologist with no disability, sick leave, vacation or ability to work, since my office is on the second floor of a building with no elevator.
But it's all good...I have DeGrom.
