Promotions, relegations, and titles, oh my!

24 teams, playing as 4 leagues of 6 teams each *
- $100 million salary cap for active rosters
- 2 seasons with each card set
- 4 champions per season (no playoffs)
- Best 2 in each of the lesser divisions promoted at the end of each season
- Worst 2 in each of the top divisions relegated at the end of each season

Segue from starting point to promotion/relegation:
- Season 1: Random division assignments, as qualification round
- Season 2: 6 teams with most wins placed in division 1, next 6 in division 2, etc.
- Season 3 and later: Promotion and relegation, as above

Rosters:
- Maximum of 32 players on each roster, mixing carded and non-carded
- Minimum of 26 carded players on each team, as required to join a league at start of season
- Up to 6 non-carded players on each team (including professional, collegiate, foreign, etc.)
- Active roster of 24-28 during season, within $100 million salary cap

Roster & other changes:
- Drops/adds allowed within your own 32 players during season, per game engine rules, with 5/10/20% penalty
- No other roster changes during season except for trades
- Up to 2 round supplemental draft between seasons of same card set
- At start of next card set, keep/drop as many as you'd like
- Annual draft to refill up to 32 player roster limit, with carded/non-carded in same draft
- No trading of future draft picks
- Permanent stadiums, unless changed in MLB (or unless new manager takes over team)

Drafts:
- The draft for the first 2020 card set season can begin as soon as we get things organized
- Drafts for later seasons will begin on August 1

* Possible variations on the theme, depending on interest level:
- 18 teams, playing as 3 leagues of 6 teams each, with $120 million salary cap (or)
- 30 teams, playing as 5 leagues of 6 teams each, with $80 million salary cap

In theory, we could even allow one league member to own multiple teams, as long as:
- Each team played in a different division, and
- No trades allowed between teams owned by the same league member
- Teams could be traded, if promotion/relegation placed 2 teams of one league member in same division

If there is enough interest, I'll prep a 1st draft of league rules, for review

So, what do you say? Ready to join Roy Kent?

Yes, only need a minimum of 6 more teams to get started.

Could be 6 more managers or some opting for 2 teams each (in different divisions).

OK, so it looks like we'll run with 18 teams. I'll prep a first draft of the rules this weekend.

If you can coax a friend to sign up -- or commit to a 2nd team yourself -- then we'll be at 18 in no time at all!
