1- draft young carded players
2- draft stars early, then build around them based on salary needs
3- draft to win in 2020 and 2021
4- draft 6 uncarded "maybe some day" guys
5.- Some combination of above

Agreed, on the "most fascinating draft". With two horses in the race, I was able to draft one with a 2020 focus -- big guns up front -- and the other with a 2021 focus -- let's grab the guys who blossomed in '21 and hope they can grow from there.

We have random assignment in the first season, but if I've done this right, I'll be able to hold on to both teams for quite a while:
- Season 1: Current team good, future team poor
- Season 2: Current team good in premier, future team poor in AA
- Season 3: Current team okay in premier, future team good in AA
- Season 4: Current team poor in premier, future team good in AAA
- Season 5: Current team okay in AAA, future team good in Premier

I went with youth, but only one non-MLBer.

Mean age: 26.4
Bimodal: 25, 26
Median: 26

With my other keeper league teams these numbers are 30-31.

I only took one mature, established guy (Belt). Hope to be decent every year...for five years?

Sometimes you have to take what the draft gives you. For example, if I could have picked early enough for a Tatis, or Guererro, or Franco, I would have been sorely tempted to go all in for youth. This draft was a challenge in that I drafted in the middle of 18 and then near the end with my other team. Knowing that, A youth movement was less likely.
