ATGv9 modern franchise championship tournament
1. This tournament will be played in 4 - 12 team league seasons. Seasons 1,2 and 3 will match up the 36 unique franchise/era themed teams. The playoff teams from seasons 1,2,3 will play for the championship in season 4.
2. For seasons 1,2 and 3 the 36 teams will be randomized across seasons and divisions. For season 1, managers will pick their franchise in a randomized order. For seasons 2,3 and the championship round the managers will pick their team in the following order: previous season manager with the worst record gets, the first pick, the manager with the second worst record gets the second pick..etc.. the manager that won the championship will always get the last pick. Ties in overall record will use run differential as the tie breaker. We will seed the division assignments for season 4 based on the record from season 1,2 and 3.
3. Player Roster Rules
a. At all times your roster must be comprised exclusively of players carded to your assigned franchise era (with the very few noted exceptions listed with the rosters)
b. For players that have cards on multiple franchises (i.e. Roger Clemens with cards to the Astros, Blue Jays, and Red Sox exp); the franchise with the high dollar card holds auto-drafting rights (AD) to that player. (only exceptions to this rule are noted with the rosters) For example, the high dollar card for Clemens is his Blue Jay card. So if the Blue Jays, Astros, and Red Sox exp are all grouped into the same season, only the Blue Jays can add Clemens to their AD list. If the Blue Jays do not auto-draft Clemens, the Astros and Red Sox can claim Clemens as a free agent (that is why this league will be set up with waivers). If the Blue Jays auto draft Clemens, but drop him, then he becomes
eligible for the Red Sox exp and Astros to pick up from the free agent pool. If the exp era Red Sox and Astros are assigned to a season, then the Red Sox would have AD rights to Clemens. If the Astros are in a season, but the Blue Jays and Red Sox are not in the same season, then the Astros could auto-draft Clemens because he would only be eligible for the Astros.
c. If you have rights to a player, you can use any card version of that player. For example, the SF Giants can use any season for Barry Bonds including his card from when he played for the Pirates. You will note a number of players have both exp era cards and post war cards (i.e Hank Aaron, Frank Robinson, Luis Aparicio). This rule applies to these cards as well so the exp era Orioles can use a post-war version of Frank Robinson.
4. Season Set up - player set ATGv9, $110 mil cap, DH, waivers, 5-10-20 drop penalty, you must pick a home ball park that corresponds to your franchise
