Question: for players with 6 or more years of service time if we draft them during inaugural draft we can then choose to extend them for a lengthy contract at their current SOM annual price for life of contract.

Example: I draft a 29 year old with 6 years of service time at a .50 cent salary because that’s what his 2019 card is priced at. Let’s say he’s normally a good player but he’s coming off an injury plagued season or down year. I could then sign him to a ten year extension at .50 per year?

Apologize I haven’t re read the rules on this, I’m just trying to interpret your explanation on page 1. Thanks.

Or is it a situation where you can sign him to a long extension but at the 11.07 section minimum salaries?

It's the second. League minimum salaries govern contract extensions. You could keep him for 1 year at the SOM salary after the draft if you chose not to extend.

I'd say you might as well post for at least one manager. Did a little research and mykbr1 shows up as the email address for user "mbrunn" who posted one time in the MLKL thread volunteering as a replacement manager back in 2017. How did mykbr1 show up on the signup list for this league?

good question

Thanks Paul. I have an invite out to someone who expressed interest earlier. If they decline, I will open up a new advertisement for a final manager.

so it has been noticed I don't post much in chat. I typically don't I'll give some background info on me. I stated playing strat in the mid 70's thru high school. Returned to computer versions in the 2000's. Played in a few leagues under different emails.

I usually only play in 1 league at a time. I look for different complex leagues. I think this certainly fits. I think it will take me awhile to figure out a strategy with the salary thing. Right now another league is drafting at the same time and my normal fantasy league. I most recently played in a keeper league starting with 2007 and ending in 2018. I believe cfo was in that league with me.

I do taxes and I'm really busy thru April 15th

Welcome mykbr1! Thanks for checking in.

Looks like the cards are still not out! My plan is to assemble a list of eligible pitchers and batters once the cards are released and to put them in the spreadsheet. As soon as that is done, we can set a date for the draft. I'm hoping that we might be able to begin as early as next Monday.
