We haven't talked much about the waiver rule. If it was Phil's intention to model the waiver rule after the one in MLB regarding waiving a player for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release, than Alvarez would have cleared waivers after last year's FA period and would be a free agent now with me still on the hook for his current contract. That's how it would work in real life at least. Phil can clarify that. But even if he says that Alvarez is still on waivers there is still the waiver priority thing . The rule says that priority for signing waived players is in the same order as the last prospect draft. Not trying to pick on you madal, I'm happy to not have Alvarez off my payroll. Just want to know how waivers is supposed to work going forward.

I knew this would be an issue, so I don't feel picked on. I also tried to bring this issue up a long time ago, but was ignored. But hell, he's been on waivers for 50 weeks. At some point, it seems to me, priority has to be lost and the contract becomes first come, first served. I believe it's well past the point of priority having precedence.

I'd like to know whether the claim on Alvarez is going to be allowed before I make any cuts/promotions.

We haven't done that draft yet. Phil recorded the first 2 drafts as 2019 and 2020. We will be doing the 2021 draft in February.

We are doing the cuts by 11/30. I’ll allow the waiver claim as we’ve had plenty of time to make claims. We will fix the waiver rule before the FA signing period. Happy thanksgiving.

Gentlemen,

With the help of Randy, the team rosters and contracts a should be updated and corrected. Please check to confirm that your rosters are correct. I have also updated the free agent pages. This is a list of players who were not rookies in 2021 and who played at least 30 IP or 50 AB. It is not exhaustive. There may be some players who were carded but not rostered in 2020 who are not on this list. They would be eligible. Players who played prior to 2020 but have not played since then may not be included on the list but may be eligible for free agent signing. I've done the best I can to create the best list possible.

We will need to vote on a rule clarification around the waiver claim process. I will craft a revised rule and submit it for a vote once free agency begins.

Remember, the free agent signing period begins Monday January 3, 2022. I will start a thread with a check-in and the order for bidding.

Philip
