I'm currently commish for 6 keeper leagues and am finding it tiring to keep up with all of the administrivia needed to keep them going. Like others recently, I'm feeling the need to back off on some of my Strat commitments, because the admin tedium gets in the way of the fun.

Several years ago, the Strat tech staff said they might consider providing support for keeper leagues -- 40-player roster management, annual drafts, trading future picks, etc. -- but that help has not yet materialized.

Would you be willing to consider working with a group of Strat veterans to add such support to your offerings?

Anybody interested in seeing if we could make this happen?

Have you gotten a response to your email yet?

I imagine that they are digesting the proposal. It may take a few days.

So optimistic, when there is no optimism to go on...

visick, I visit the ATG forum and frequently see threads bemoaning, rightfully so, a lack of response to issues that are brought up. I'm guessing that fact, along with SOM's general indifference to communication, is coloring your comments here. This is the first time that 20XX KL managers and players have asked for some support. Maybe our experience will be the same as ATG. We won't know unless we ask.

Absolutely...

However,

Past performance tends to dictate future endeavors.

They can't run all of their games. (2001-2006)
They can't keep their database for these games as well.

I've just touched the surface of doing something like the KL managers want.
I'm no IT guy, but essentially isn't it just data storage/database work?

It was agreed upon awhile back that ATG is their best seller.
They can't make their customers happy (ATG Player Integration), what makes me think they're do something like this?

I've also come to expect nothing from them.

Much easier to handle.

it just seems funny that other computer games offer every season from 1900 for less than 50 bucks a year....keeper leagues prosper and yet here we are not able to even start a keeper league from even 2000....think of what would happen in strat if you could start a keeper league from 1940 to present....im in all the way but than that is just wishful thinking.....i guess im not the only one who can do math...somebody please win the lottery and buy strat to update the game to become the best......my 2 cents

to all the commishs who spend their time running leagues thank you very much for your efforts...it really quite a job you do

I e-mailed SOM this morning:

Hello,

Nine days ago a longtime commissioner of six 20XX keeper leagues, tcochran, contacted you regarding the possibility of SOM providing a platform that would replace duties that commissioners currently perform using google.doc or Excel.

He has received no reply. Why?

Terry initiated a thread in the ILC titled “Support for keeper leagues?” Commissioners representing a great majority of keeper leagues have responded positively to his appeal. The thread has been stickied to the top of the Forum and will remain so until the community has a response from you.

Please read it.

20XX keeper leagues have provided SOM with a steady stream of revenue for many years. However, based on my communication with many keeper league commissioners we are at a crossroads. Some are hesitant as to whether they will continue their duties.

Don’t miss this opportunity for your future and ours. Invest once, earn forever.
