Dual Franchise League Season 23

PostSat Jan 19, 2019 6:19 pm

This will be season 23 of the Dual Franchise League. For the upcoming season we are going to do something a bit different from the past; so the rules are as follows.

-- Each manager will be only choosing one franchise; it must be an expansion franchise listed below, there is one exception I have added the WhiteSox franchise, just to give another option

-- Once each manager has drafted a franchise , then each manager will draft 4 free agents for his team. The team picking the last franchise will have first pick for the free agents and the draft will reverse as we have done in past seasons. You cannot draft a free agent that another manager has the rights to, however after the first game is played ALL players either from original or franchise teams will eligible to be picked up as free agents

Salary cap will be 155 million, we are using a DH. 5% drop for the season.

Trading players is allowed, however if you draft a free agent and subsequently trade him, you will not be allowed to pick up another free agent; you may however drop a free agent and add another. No NEL players are eligible.

Gamiam is on vacation till Jan 22, so I think we can start the draft on the 23rd, Also we need one more manger so if anyone knows of anyone who might be interested please let me know.

Teams and draft order to follow

Question...

Shouldn't the World Series winner be last?
And the loser drafting 11th?

I know I had the best overall record, but I thought drafts were usually run with the WS winner choosing last.

Back from vacation. I'll have my laptop late tonight. Since I pick 11th, don't feel you have to wait on me any longer.

To Visick; sometimes we start the draft before the playoffs have ended, for that reason we have always used the standings for the draft so that we need not wait for playoff results.

It appears we are ready to start the draft, although we still need one more manager ( I will post the vacancy)....so PDixon whenever you are ready.....also so that we are all on the same page, below is a list of some notable players who will the property of different francises due to the fact we are not using the Original franchises that we have used in the past:

McGwire---Oakland
Willie Randolph--Oakland
Sutton---Brewers
Greinke---KC
Galarragra---Expos
Singer---Angels
Lynn--Angels
Robbie Alomar-- Toronto
Gossage--Padres
Vizquel--Seattle
Hoyt Wilhelm--White Sox
Darwin--Houston
John Franco--Mets
Mike Piazza--Mets
Miguel Cabrera---Marlins
Sheffield--Marlins
Albert Belle---Whitesox
Jim Thome--Whitesox
Carlton Fisk--Whitesox
Kevin Mitchell--Mets
Matt Williams--Arizona
Nettles--SD

There may be some other players but these are the ones that I thought could impact a franchise, and also just like in the past we can use a players BEST card.

to Splinter;

If you trade one of your free agents ; you cannot go into the free agent pool and pick another free agent; this would prevent a manager from continually dipping into the free agent market and then using them as trade bait. You can only have 4 free agents on your roster at one time.

However, If you draft a free agent and he is not performing ; you may release him and pick up another free agent. Make sense??

And while we are on the subject, you can agree in principle to a trade while the draft is still ongoing; but you need to make all your official trades after the official strat draft....in other words if you agree to trade say Pedro, you have to draft him and trade him once he is officially on your roster...this makes it easier for everyone to track transactions.

Also, the good doctor is back in the house; DrFreeze49 is back in the league and will draft in the 6th slot
