I do not believe this was part of the rules. I know at least 2 teams in the 1st league used stadiums that were not part of their franchises Yankees stadium for example was used by an owner that did not have Yankees franchise). I looked back at the original rules and did not see this included as a rule either, unless I missed it.

**Re-posting the rules from earlier in this thread, including the amendment concerning the NeL franchise.**

Super Team Combined Live Draft Tournament

This will be a three season tournament, using 6-team leagues, a 250m cap, 5-20% drop penalty, and franchise ballparks.

We will first live draft individual players in a 6-round 'player' draft. Every player is eligible to be drafted. This draft will be followed by a 4-round live draft of franchise teams, in reverse order of the player draft. Drafting will take place in this forum thread.

The cards drafted in the player draft will no longer be associated with a franchise; if you select a player like Barry Bonds in the player draft, the manager selecting the Pirates and Giants franchises may not draft him and will have no rights to him.

Players carded to the unselected franchises, the NeL franchise, and pre-1900 players who don't appear on a team drop-down roster will become free agents at waivers and for the entire season. Any player who is carded to more than one team, and one of those teams is a free-agent franchise, will be considered a free agent if left undrafted by the team with franchise rights.

Initial draft order to be determined by randomizer results. Each player will be assigned a number (see below) before the randomizer runs. Where that player's number falls in the randomized sequence becomes that player's draft slot for the player draft. Draft orders for subsequent season will be based on the prior season's standings - worst to first order. Any ties will be resolved using SOM tie-breaker rules.

You may trade any player that you have the rights to, via franchise, free agent, or prior trades.

Tournament Winner:

The winner of the tournament will receive a credit transfer from me. In order to win the tournament you must win at least one season. Any player who wins two seasons automatically wins the tournament. If a different player wins each of the three seasons, then the player with the highest number of wins will be considered the tournament winner. Any ties will be resolved using SOM tie-breaker rules.

QUESTION:

Should we stay with the ATG8 set, or move to the ATG9 set for this last season?

I would vote for the new ATG 9 set. $275 million sounds ok.

I vote ATG 9. I'll also take the Yankees...

If we do move to ATG9, we will need to raise the salary cap significantly to replicate (as close as possible) the competitive conditions of the prior leagues, IMO. I just looked at the best players at each position, players we are all using for every league, and most have had salary increases - particularly the elite at each position. SP and the best RP (who aren't R1) have gone up from 1-2 mil each.

Another point for discussion. I would suggest we raise the cap to 275 or perhaps even 300 if we go with ATG9. Tough to figure what's best. Looking back, at 250 each of us spent all our cap, so that was a limiting factor to some degree.
