Well, you got two from us tonight. The last one really hurt Lind hits a granny off a lhrp Osich who's pretty darn good v LHB. Blanton gives up a HR to send it to extras to start with. He's been just awful. 11 losses. :( Not to mention 10 BS versus 9 saves. Just terrible. 20 HRs in 118 IP pitching in Kauffman.

Doesn't help that we can't hit a guy like McCullers. We both left 12 LOB in that game.

Lost Votto for 3 and Franklin for 4 in the series.

We're really just a hot streak from getting in this thing, but it doesn't seem to be in the offing for us. I guess I should be happy to just win a game in Coors.

Yeah, the Lind HR was the heartbreaker for you. He's not even good v L and Osich is great v L. I'm just trying to hang close for division play, hoping I can make a run at the WC, and Lind really helped that out. Pretty much written the division off to the dream season Pugs, but I'm pulling for ALL the teams in the West! My offense has finally come around some, like it should in Coors. I'm 1-11 v the Pugs.

I agree you're just one more hot streak from being back in it. The second game last night was an amazing display of your hitting and how good it can be.

Yeah, we had 48 hits in the series and lost 2 of 3. yeah, it was in Coors so what to you expect I guess. This team is just too luck dependent. You have to string the hits together when they are all singles. That was my mistake with this team. That and thinking Votto could carry an offense. Nine HRs just ain't going to get it done. :( 3 for 10 on BPHRs. Must have rolled most of those at home or in pitcher's parks. Timing is everything.

We have a tough series with Big K tonight. <sigh>

A cut at the ratings for this league. Some of the teams have made so many moves that the ratings are probably a little off, I just can't tell what the team is doing/has done.

Anyway, as expected I'm way under. I mean, they're my ratings so, most of the time, my team rates pretty well.

The ratings would suggest that Next Level should be better and that the Jockeys and Tundra should be worse.

Oberlin looks a little bit low and the Rabbits a little high. Or so the ratings would indicate.

Code: Select all
Team...   O...   P...   F..   P+F.   Ovrl   Div
Thieves   8026   4995   542   5537   2489   E
Aresenl   8028   4896   734   5631   2397   W
ACPugs.   7210   4837   417   5255   2385   C
SPBigK.   7558   5135   44   5180   2379   W
Oberlin   7688   4884   440   5325   2363   W
NextLvl   8316   5670   418   6088   2228   E
Reavers   7541   5198   326   5524   2017   W
Rabbits   7680   5167   588   5754   1926   C
Arizona   7313   4729   693   5421   1892   E
Strikrs   7538   5281   544   5825   1714   C
Jockeys   7618   5563   373   5936   1682   E
Tundra.   7411   5168   738   5907   1504   C

Ok, some information here. I assume a 70/30 split RH/LH.
For hitters higher is better
Pitchers and fielding lower is better.
P+F is pitching plus fielding which is a measure of how many runs you should allow.

Here is the comparison for Offense and Defense (P+F)

Code: Select all
Team Of   O   Rtg   Run   Dif
NextLvl   8316   1   2   -1   E
Aresenl   8028   3   4   -1   W   287
Thieves   8026   3   6   -3   E   3
Oberlin   7688   5   5   0   W   338
Rabbits   7680   5   5   0   C   8
Jockeys   7618   6   8   -2   E   62
SPBigK.   7558   7   6   1   W   60
Reavers   7541   7   5   2   W   18
Strikrs   7538   7   9   -2   C   2
Tundra.   7411   8   9   -1   C   128
Arizona   7313   9   9   0   E   97
ACPugs.   7210   10   8   2   C   103
      71   76   -5      114

Offensively, The Thieves are the most off with the Jockeys and STrikers a bit low. only the Pugs are sort of over performing here.

Code: Select all
Team PF   P+F   Rtg   Run   Dif
SPBigK.   5180   1   4   -3   W
ACPugs.   5255   2   1   1   C   -75
Oberlin   5325   3   6   -3   W   -70
Arizona   5421   4   3   1   E   -97
Reavers   5524   5   4   1   W   -102
Thieves   5537   5   9   -4   E   -13
Aresenl   5631   6   6   0   W   -94
Rabbits   5754   7   9   -2   C   -123
Strikrs   5825   8   9   -1   C   -70
Tundra.   5907   9   10   -1   C   -82
Jockeys   5936   9   5   4   E   -30
NextLvl   6088   12   10   2   E   -152

In pitching, there are a couple of teams behind, the Thieves, once again, are the most off with Big K and Oberlin close behind. Of course, both those teams are in the clearly best division in the league so that could be part of it. The Jockey's pitching has been much better than expected and Next Level slightly better.

For what it's worth I guess. Not like my team has given me any credibility here. :(

Wow, Blanton now has a 4.51 ERA. He faced 10 batters in game 3 tonight and not a single one rolled on Blanton's card. There was a H&R, and squeeze and an Intentional walk, but the other seven were on their own cards. I can't even begin to understand how often opponents are on their own cards against him. It's at 56%. It's just killing us, the team is set up for him to close games out, not give them away.

We were ahead 4-3 when he came in and we lost 13-5.

In the other game he pitched, we won and he got a "hold" despite giving up 2 hrs in 2.1 IP. Again, almost all the rolls were on the hitter's cards (9 of 11). Weirdly, Hal is leaving him in when he is tired for hitter after hitter. I don't think I've ever seen a RP face four hitters a F0 and four more at f6 or less. He's not on slow hook and he doesn't have any stamina setting either.

Anyone see stuff like this before?

Hey Joe,
Can you post some sort of explanation of what the numbers mean? I'd certainly be interested but I just have no idea what the numbers mean or represent.
Michael.

Joe,

Yes, a brief discussion of the ratings would be helpful.

As for Blanton, I have seen something like this. In the 2014 set, I used Betances as a a super-reliever and had him set at F4 or lower throughout the season. He was an R2/C0. He pitched 231.2 innings and 55% of his rolls were on the hitters' cards, which I couldn't understand. Subsequently, I read somewhere that forcing a pitcher to pitch while fatigued shifts the rolls to the hitters' cards. I don't know what your settings are, but maybe that is the explanation.
