seems pretty trivial to me, so let's go with what most leagues do here.

It’s always been a confusing rule. the way it was explained to me by some who originally wrote them was basically your picks are your picks until draft starts. Then once draft starts any picks you have more than roster spots to fill are voided.
Apparently it was to stop guys from trading picks that they basically didn’t have for picks the following year.

Otherwise it could be a nightmare to figure out, if guys traded away and traded for multiple picks before the draft.

He simply has to drop 10 just like everyone else. Even if he acquired a bunch of picks and was done drafting after the 3rd round, he’s still free to trade 4-10 until draft starts

You can't trade what you don't own. That's what I was checking on. I wanted to make sure I could cover that 10th round pick even if i acquired more draft picks - which I knew was inevitable since Terry had agreed to send me his 3rd for Hazelbaker before I wrote that post.

thanks rosco, will get on it now. In that July 5th deal you are trading him a 2019 4th rd prospect pick. Is that your pick or the one you acquire from fred in transaction #61(basically would be just giving him back his pick)
