You do not have to release anyone because Blake Snell is still a prospect. Rules indicate that you can promote prospect when there is room on your roster. There isn't currently room, so I don't think that you can promote him (nor would I think you'd want to with his card this year).

Back from vacation and noticed your post, I believe I've traded Blake Snell in the Kimbral deal

The record of the prospect draft shows Triston McKenzie being drafted twice and Jeren Kendall not at all. And McKenzie is not on any roster on the rosters by position pages.
