Normally we try to work with managers to find a new Waivers deadline that works with as many of you as possible, but we realize that starting the season this Monday night is preferred. Therefore, please assume that we'll be running Waivers one day late on Sunday, May 18 at 5pm ET. If you have a strong objection to this, please post a comment here; if enough of you would prefer to push Opening Day back one week, we'll consider that. Otherwise, we'll run Waivers on Sunday at 5pm ET and, if necessary, we'd honor individual requests to exchange your team for another. We apologize for this inconvenience and hope that we can reach a solution that works for everyone.

This is so stupid. The whole point of waivers is to give everyone a fair chance at free agents. Whether you set the waiver deadline at 5pm or 5am is moot. The point is you have a certain amount of time to make waiver claims for a free agent you are interested in, not to find a time that works best for everyone to open the floodgates for free agency. There is no reason waivers could not have run at 7pm or 8pm or whenever the problem was resolved. So now the whole league is punished with either a) greatly reduced time for free agent acquisitions, or b) starting the season a week later. Way to go, TSN.
