fun to have the first pick and all, but it sure is demoralizing to keep watching over 20 picks go by as every guy you want get's picked. "maybe i can get frank thomas?" nope. "i know, i'll do a lajoie/a-rod double for my next picks - yeah!" nope. "i usually end up with mccovey and he does well for me, maybe he'll be around." nope.

You can have Lajoie.

Hey, stop complaining. You snatched Caldwell out of my hands. Well played.

I will be out for a few hours in case my turn comes up. Can't proxy this time.

Every time I do one of these, once I know my draft position, I always try and figure out ahead of time who I will pick in each of my slots. I'll have it all figured out, then someone will "take" one of my guys right ahead of me and I have to redo my list. It happens at just about every pick. So, my "plan ahead" is useless.

Agreed, just let the draft come to me. I go in with a plan, but when Bagwell falls to 19th pick and Sosa to 30th, the plan gets chucked and I go for my best on the board. The thing that changes in my head is when to start going for pitching, but that changes depending on what’s left. Cr-cr-cr-crapshoot!

I must admit I don't trust my instincts or judgment right now based on my last team: 6 games under .500 but with a +110 run differential. How do you fix that, I certainly don't know. So rethinking and waffling on every pick.

Shoot. I wouldn't change my approach if I were you. It worked last time just fine (+110). You just had crappy luck. Luck tends to even out.
