Advice on 86 Team

I'm looking for advice from some veterans on my 1986 Strat team (link below).

I am not sure if the results I am seeing are a result of bad luck or poor lineup construction. I focus on OBP and so far my team is leading the league in walks and has the 2nd fewest strikeouts, which his great. However, my batting average is horrible (.227 42 games into the season) and I am stranding a ton of baserunners.

I appreciate any insight you all can share with me.

Your team looks okay. You are in somewhat of a HR ballpark, definitely a hitters park, with only a couple of power hitters.

I know everyone likes to have 1s defensively up the middle, and Bill Doran isn't a bad value. However I think Alfredo Griffin is horribly overpriced.

That said, your team isn't bad, might as well use patience. If you were going to change anything I would sacrifice Alfredo for a different SS and upgrade the offense.

I really only see three power hitters in a hitters park. You could use more offense. But you should mostly stay the course. You are not doing that poorly, and there is plenty of time for you to get hot.

The draft destroyed my original blueprint for the team. I wish there was an option to change ballparks later because Fenway isn't the right choice for this team. However, when life hands you lemons...

Thanks for the advice Radagast. I especially appreciate it because you and I are division competitors in that league.

By the way, they are probably going to add the option to change your ballpark AFTER the draft. Let's hope.
