OK, in an effort to get this draft moving again, I looked at the ten least expensive pitchers remaining (hopefully my spreadsheet was up to date). I assigned numbers, based on lowest to highest salary, and then I did a random number generator, shown below. Based on the results of that, Doug_Tucker is now the proud owner of Pete Donohue 1927 (800 K), and Bob Smith 1934 ($1,610 K). Their combined total is less than $3 M, so these selections conform to his instructions. Bob Smith is one of those names which doesn't show up in the search engine, because of the common name; if he isn't available, then the next player would be Jumbo Brown, who is available.

** And contrary to the earlier post, the fact that he (a Julie is a he??!!) is a member of the 1927 Yankees does not necessarily make him a great player. I find out from Baseball Reference that his actual name was Julian, which sounds a bit more masculine.

EDIT - Actually, in looking over his card, he does have one that is similar in some respects to good old Woodie Held's card. Wera had limited ABs, and apparently hit his HR vs. a left handed pitcher, so he's got a number of HR readings against left handed pitchers. Woodie, as you likely remember, had limited ABs in the 1969 season, and hit all three of his HRs vs. right hand pitchers (even though Held was a right handed batter). There was many an occasion where I would start a left handed pitcher just to neutralize Held.
